BTW, somebody did a VIN search and the car still exists and recently sold in California. If anyone here bought it, I still have a ton of paperwork stuff from the original car including an original set of keys...
Original VHS footage I took back in March 1996 when the Factory Team Vipers were running at Sebring 12 Hours. Street Vipers from all over the south converged on the track and were able to do a pace lap for the race. Some interesting footage of the race Vipers screaming by and lots of MFR plated...
Vintage in-car footage when I was racing my '93 Viper during a track day on the Sebring International Raceway long course. This was in August of 1995. The 288 GTO and the F40 were both owned by a friend's father-in-law who had a collection that he drove whenever he had the chance. The footage...
Back in 1996, if you bought originally and still owned your Viper R/T-10, (We had a '93 and still have it today) Dodge sent you a coupon good for an allocation for purchasing a 1996 Viper GTS Coupe. You could bring the coupon to any dealership and order the car. It was a real-life ***** Wonka...
LOL. I love how they use generalities like "Move top of radiator until it is clear of radiator support then it can be lifted free from engine compartment". They leave out the part about having to remove every piece of hardware and the A/C system. I have an original first edition service manual...
And here's the original radiator. I dropped it off at Fingers Radiator Hospital in North Brunswick, New Jersey this morning. They have been in business for over a century. I had them recore the original radiators my other vintage cars over the past 20 years (70 Cuda, 71 Lincoln, 72 Firebird)...
I had to pull the radiator from my January 1993 built Gen 1, that I've owned since new.
Just a heads-up in case anyone out there mistakenly thinks you can pull the radiator from a 1992 or 1993 (with the early style dual fan set up and filler neck) by following the one-hour Gen II procedure. NO...
Glad it worked out for you. That's awesome! It is just unfathomable that this interchangeability info wasn't put out there by any of the manufacturers. Its a $47 part that is an exact replacement for the factory unit. And it takes all of 10 minutes (including time to make a cup of coffee) to...
It was the factory that half-assed installed the heat shields with pop rivets. From 1992 to 1997 that was how the heat shields were retained in the sills. It was not a very intelligent method as the rivet was steel and the side pipe covers were aluminum. Now, who here remembers their high school...
My early 93 Viper (has the battery in the center, under the trunk access panel like a 1992) needs to be replaced. I would like to get an Optima drycell battery but they all seem to have the top posts that will interfere with the access cover. Does anyone know of an alternative? Does Optima make...
