This will be my first Viper purchase. I’ve looked a few others but this one seems quite clean. I’m going to fly out to see this 2001 GTS (VIN: 1B3ER69E21V701142) in a couple days. I’m not the most mechanically inclined, so any “pro tips” on what to look at would be appreciated. The seller (a dealer and tuner that has moved numerous Vipers) has answered every question and been very forthcoming with providing any additional pictures and videos.

No accidents, 27k miles, lower fascia and bottom side skirt pieces repainted due to rock chips. Autocheck doesn’t have anything abnormal. Recall check looks good.

Thanks!

You might want to look at past sales to get an idea of the market. Bringatrailer.com specifically.

Thanks! Great advice. I've already pre-negotiated pricing on this specific vehicle based on market comps from sites like BaT, Classic.com, talking to dealers, Facebook, etc.

Curious if there are any other areas on this vehicle that I should specifically look at.

Check the hood to bumper gaps. Can be a real pain to get right.

Other than that I can’t think of any viper specific things to look out for. The engines are pretty bullet proof. So is the trans. Pay attention to clutch feel. If it feels soft or engages really close to the floor you’re probably in for a new slave cylinder or clutch.

Other than that just the normal used car things. Listen for abnormal noises and feel for vibrations. You’re probably in for all new bushings just be aware of that.

Imo this is a 55-60k car in this slow winter market.

Thanks. Good to know on that clutch release point. Yeah, actually I’m right in that range on price.

That is a real nice car. If it doesn't work out, I am selling a 15K mile 2001 RT/10 for $49K. Clean title, no accidents.
