Are you kidding me. I have 13,000 miles on my ACR. And as far as the Gen V being the first Viper to own? Vipers have been in production for 20 years for a reason.
Depends on the car. I notice on my ACR they never run after I shut it off; but, on my wife's MB and my Abarth the fans run for a few seconds or minutes depending upon how hot it is.
My dealer sent me an email and said he was supposed to receive one for my Viper tomorrow (Saturday). I checked a supplier on-line who says he can get them in 3 - 5 ddays now.
Thanks for setting the record straight. I'm not surprised the cops didn't think the tires were street legal. Most people don't even think brand new tires on an ACR are legal much less new.
I'm glad you weren't hurt.
Junkman - I reviewed your comparison and you're right it would be hard to justify the cost difference. Having said that, my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday which is tomorrow and I told her an Air Force Master Blaster. I think she thought I was making that up so I showed it to her...
That's normal and what most of us like about the exhaust when slowing down especially gearing down.
I believe even with the new Gen V's the engineers made sure they didn't lose that sound.
I bought my ACR without a test drive and had only been in a Viper once and that was just to check out in the insider while I was waiting on mine to be built and delivered.
Going back through the new cars I have owned I test drove some and didn't others. For the new Z06's I knew I wanted...
I'm surprised an owners manual doesn't come with it. Looks like you can purchase one; but, I don't think the vendor is a sponsor so I am emailing you their link.
I did quite a bit of research on indoor car covers as I just needed something to keep my black ACR from getting dusty. I finally just purchased a couple of black microfiber blankets from Walmart on-line. I could use another one; but, they do the trick and are soft and easy to take on and off.
My exact question/thought when I saw it in the picture.
Nine Ball: Thanks for the excellent write up, photos and observations. I almost am wondering if I should be waiting around for the ACR version; but, ....I will at least for now.
Until I drove off in my ACR I had never driven a Viper. And I owned four Vette models and got to drive a demo when I bought my 94 and they almost inisted I drive the ZR1 before we finished the deal.
