5245322 PCV Grommet NLA / Substitute

Chrysler Corporation has used exactly the same grommet for every car in their line since 1967. The ONLY difference for the Gen 2 is that it has a double-male barb pushed in from the backside. The Dorman part is good to go. They also make a replacement for the hose from there to the PCV valve. It...

    parking brake cable broke

The lever mechanism itself is from a early-90's LeBaron K-car. Is the single cable to the equalizer bar, the equalizer bar itself, or one of the rear caliper cables broken? Most areas with a lot of O&G, or heavy construction activity will have a shop who can build custom control cables, or...

    '99 GTS starts and stalls/dies

I do not recommend touching TB screws - even as a last resort. Especially not if it was working fine beforehand. My car had a small backfire after R&R of plugs and fuel treatment. I cranked but would not fire. I held the throttle wide open, cranked and fired but ran roughly and wouldn't idle. I...

    Gen 1 Audio Upgrade Thread.

Collectively, these were classed as BUX (Export) cars by Chrysler/Dodge. In the parts book, you would need to look for the suffix BUX for seatbelts, exhaust systems, lighting, etc. Since they spent the money to move the shoulder belts and exhaust inboard, they were able to defray the...

    Gen 1 Emblem Color

That's probably close to the Argent color. I think it was used on the Gray Pearlcoat cars.

Argent is a sparkle gray color.

    Turbo Oil Drain Locations?

As long as you have oil pressure, you can discharge above the sump cover in the pan. The walls above the cover are the same height regardless of 8, or 10qt pan.

    Hard top quesrion

I believe they kept the same pin location for all Gen 1s. The latch handles were nearly identical, only the pins and sockets changed. The pins are removable for a swap. A '93 top would probably work up thru sometime mid-late '94.

    Looking for RT/10 Steering Crossmember

Ha! That's my car in the bottom photo! The arrowspoint to the cracks that generated the front frame recall. Contact OldSchool via PM, or Don Scharf Auto in Wisconsin for salvage parts. In your case, Dodge just *might* make parts available for you. You could need some Club help here.

Why does my parking brake get loose?

I think the only part of the system that provides resistance to the handle & cables are the torsion springs that engage the caliper piston manual actuator arms. If the arms don't swing back when the lever is lowered, there is cable slack on that side and the equalizer bar in the console is...

    Gen 1 Emblem Color

Some number of early black 93s had red Sneaky Pete medallions. I think something like 50 to 75.

    Plugs and wires

Quality Wires are a solid choice. I tried them, but they didn't fit my custom heat shields - couldn't get my fingers on the boots.

Why does my parking brake get loose?

I've seen this issue mentioned more frequently around the web of late and I've suffered from it for a while myself. One of the prime symptoms is pulling the handle and having it go vertical with no resistance. You can then ratchet it a few times and it will sort-of work normally. Several years...

    Smog Time again

It's a 50 rpm range band. At light loads, our cars can buck around roughly.

    passenger side window quit working

More often than not, door electronics issues are traced to this area. Copper wire work hardens with repeated flexing and the conductors break. I move the splices outside the umbilical tube to reduce repeats. Now my window, door lock indicator and LF door speaker work again!

You are correct on diameter - the Moog EV 252 is M15 male x M14 female. 1.5 thread pitch.

    96 dipstick indicator

This is a good find Tom. Your tube is for a '92-'96.0 with the Gen 1 wet sleeve engine. The belled cap is correct for your G1 tube. It was designed to seat into the pan itself, (picture below) instead of the lower block flange area of all Gen 2s. All the tubes are the same diameter at the...

    97 GTS Steering PLay

I was searching around the internet for inner tie rods yesterday evening. I found a MOOG master interchange lookup table by dimensions! There are several models within about 0.5" length variation. Only 1 is listed as available - the EV-324. Edit: EV-324 has the wrong inboard thread. Won't work...

High flow cats vs other exhaust input

Sidepiped RT's will get stupid loud very quickly if you gut them too aggressively. HF cats are fine, but I would definitely recommend some quality mufflers. I rode as a Viper Days instructor with a guy in a 95 RT/10 with gutted sidepipes way back in the day. The volume and resonance was so bad I...
