Hi George,
The engine work is basically removing the front cover, and reinstalling a slightly modified core cover- about 4 hours or so, done during an oil change. There is a slight modification to the cover, but nothing that would impact future use, or the ability to smog the car. Everything...
Hey guys,
I am sitting on a potential reasonably priced "stop gap" for tuning Gen-4, and potentially Gen-5, that would sit between the full standalone option, and the Mopar controller. It is not cost effective in small quantities, but becomes more reasonable in larger quantities.
My question...
Superior, Yes. However, when you factor in the hardware used to hold Gen-4 and 5 engines together, they are not necessarily the most conducive for Nitrous. I see head gasket failures in the future of any unmodified 4 & 5 engines which are used for any decent amount of power production, but...
Check crank damper- is bolt loose?
These cooling systems are very simple, nothing magical by any stretch.
Any signs of coolant in oil? Coolant system pressure test results?
That being said, I have STOCK head Gen-4 conversions making those same kind of power numbers on very mild camshafts. Its not "just" the head porting. Those ported head cars surely have FAAAAR more modifications than just the heads. I am not going to argue that higher flowing heads wont produce...
From what I can tell before getting one in hand, the Gen-5 piston is likely the exact same piston as the ACRX, or at least nearly completely based on it. That was a tried and true available piston from their primary piston supplier.
The difference going to a forged piston is minimal. There are...
It can be done. I have 3 TT cars here, a G2, G3, and G4... all Pectel, and they will ALL pass OBD-2 emissions. It just takes a lot of knowing what you are doing, and a lot of extra time in harness design. To my knowledge, we are the only ones who have done it. No one has pushed the Pectel as far...
I do disagree to a point. The G5 got "forged" internals to keep from breaking pistons on the track left and right, not necessarily for boost. I have seen more broken OE G4 pistons than any other generation by a LONG stretch. They still use the same PM rods as G4. The "forged" pistons in the G5...
We run 0W-40 M1 in street engines, and 5W-40 Turbo Diesel in the TT/SC cars. The Diesel oils have more wear resistance and high temperature breakdown additives. That being said, I would not hesitate to use 5W-40 TD in an N/A engine... its just usually cost prohibitive to do so for little if any...
You may want to go read this one from the beginning. I was in no way disrespectful to this guy in my first few replies. It wasn't until he started to come off as an arrogant know-it-all who happened to be completely incorrect, at which point I returned the favor.
You also need to keep in mind...
Thread from the Dead!
Am I the only one who finds it HILARIOUS that the "Upgraded" guy disappeared immediately after this thread?
Tom Sessions hit the nail on the head for sure, hahaha
Unfortunately it is quite unlikely. The amount of electrical tooling and jigs required to make it exactly how we want it are just not something that we can ship out, and the eleictrical system modifications are not really something for an end-user to attempt. Once the initial install is...
Hello,
The pricing is currently set up as a flat install charge, plus the radio cost depending on type, and then an optional upgrade for the Mirror configuration. As it stands, this is only available to be installed by us directly, be it here or if by chance during one of our travels at some...
The big reasoning here is that the MyGig is not a true Double DIN, and requires faaaar less cutting and modification of the dashboard inner structure. The MyGig has a very large screen to body ratio, giving you a larger screen/face to physical body size. The Double Dins are near a 1:1 in many...
As posted over in the New Products section, cost is being set at 1495.00 Install + Radio Selection. The RER and RHR can be had in a variety of formats ranging from 500-2000 depending on used/new and RER/RHR.
The Gauge LED's are our "UV" color option for our LED kits. They fluoresce the needles...
Well, I figured I would update this, seeing as I just checked this one of the "to do" list about 15 minutes ago...
In person it looks a hell of a lot better than in pictures, and even the photos are pretty good. It matches the dash much better than anticipated, and is flush without the need...
Bump for the subscribed guys... finally checked this one off the to-do list. No guinea pigs were used, so this one had to wait for my own boredom and car, LOL.

Wet Sleeve has an iron sleeve that sides in with o-rings, and is captured by the head and block. Coolant flows on the back of the sleeve.
Dry Sleeve is an iron sleeve pressed into an aluminum bore in the block. Coolant ports are cast in the aluminum, and the back of the sleeve does not touch...
