Yes, it is worth a try. But, before doing that, I would check the Schrader valves at the high and low pressure ports. If they are leaking, you can try to tighten them...or replace as necessary. The part number that you have provided does not match any Viper from 1992 through 2010 per the Mopar parts catalogs that I can check. It does match an early Durango, a Dakota, a truck... You might want to take your VIN to Dodge dealer and try to order the correct part. They may have to search...- Steve-Indy

Yes. What year is your Viper? The blue/red dial has nothing to do with managing cold air...it is merely a link to the water valve under the hood. So, when you turn it to full red, one gets heat to the floor vents and/or the windshield. When you turn it to full blue, one merely closes the water...- Steve-Indy

European Gen IV versions?
I am not aware of a Gen III motor being an option for an European Gen IV...but others who pay more attention to such things might offer different information. YES...you need to get VIN. AC needs recharging every year?
I use the assortment package from A/C Pro which you can get from AutoZone, etc. I also keep a couple of A/C Pro High and Low pressure port kits around as they have Schrader valves, the tool to remove or tighten the valves, and new caps.- Steve-Indy

2005 won't start. Lots of testing can't find problem
It may be time for a fresh set of eyes to look at your Viper. Have you considered contacting Alex at ADM Motorsports in Eustis, FL ? This would certainly be my suggestion as I read through your post as well as your previous posts concerning this situation. Best of luck !!- Steve-Indy
