Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!! Hype and Facts are two different things. Hype is what we “think” our cars should be worth and saying they are worth it. Fact is what the cars are actually going for whether it’s a Viper or some other car...

Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!! I can hardly wait for my “Old 96” as you guys say to get older. I played my cards right with three other “old muscle cars” sitting in my garage and I personally believe I have a Straight Flush with my 96 GTS…...

Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!! You “may” need to cut your B/W color count down. How many B/W were made with the stripes going through the plate (you could probably do the same for red and stripes though). Yes I know it’s the same color but...

New member looking to buy a '96 Viper

Love my 96 GTS... Go for it but as stated above, look it over good, change fluids and inspect the weak links for problems before driving it any long distances. PS, RevHeats doc that he wrote (stated above) is a must when owning a 96 GTS. He did a great job on it!!!

    Shredded Pulley

Do you think it was easier to leave the pump in and do it that way? Was there enough room to get the hacksaw in there with it still in the car? Is there enough room to get a puller on it with it still in the car?

I understand about the road course. Ya, when I bought the Viper, I vowed to myself it would stay exactly like Dodge made it, good or bad!!! Congrats, as an owner of a 69 Corvette Convertible, I can appreciate the award your car received.. So I guess you can appreciate / understand what I am...

Negative. I have enough Hi performance 60's cars in my fleet that I don't have to Mod the Viper.

I know what your saying and I agree but I want to keep my car 100% stock...To some it doesn't make sense but that's what I am after, I’m a purist.

OK, I believe I have the answer, (not %100 percent sure though) I believe they are the same from 92-98. I am thinking of buying one (black) but only if its MINT at a reasonable price. Thanks!

Quick question. Is the stock shift knob from a 95 the same as what is in my 96GTS? I know the threads are but is the knob itself the same? Thanks!!!

    My New Shifter Knob

Ya, read allot of threads about it but my question still is if you remove the stock knob and throw a cue ball type knob like you have, does it make it too short? Tremec makes a cool white knob but I am afraid of taking my stock knob off and putting on the Tremec cue ball one will make it too...
