    A pleasant suprise!!

Believe it or not, the Gen 4 TBs dont even open fully at WOT. Max power is made at the throttle position as set by the MoPar PCM, with 93+ octane. Smoothe-tubes and/or KN airbox MAY make a few more HP, or more CFM, but so small it cannot be +/1 1.5% of dyno accurancy. This is a VERY...

    Brake fluid

DOT 4 is fine for street applications, and a running change was made in 1997 from Dot 3 to Dot-4 Dot 5.1 is also fine, and best choice for track days like like a Motul-600-RBF. Never, Ever, use SILICONE fluid in a Viper (DOT-5) Remember this mantra: "Silicone is for breasts, not...

Took The Plunge...it's going to be a Very Viper X-Mass

WELCOME! The Skip-Shift annoyance will be less-annoying as you learn the car. But its a cheap-fix to turn off. I always worry about new, enthusastic owners and "traction control" on your run-crap tires. With FULL CREDIT to WILDASP in SC, here is one of the BEST Newbee-Tips I have...

    Just Wrecked My Dream Car

    > > > If it turns out that you have a valid policy for a rebuilt-salvaged car, at an ACV, it matters not. HOWEVER: What difference would it make to YOU? Pick a year of Viper, any year/model/color. Now, park an identical-looking year-model next to it, same miles, same mods. TWINS...

7Amood...... any chance you can still post a pic of the NEW GEAR next to the OLD GEAR? Sounds like you are installed, but I think it would be a very revealing comparo ..... Thank You...

Wiil this thing fry my battery?

The 2-amp automatic setting as shown by OP is a 'trickle' type of timed charger that is ALWAYS at 2 amps as set, or it shuts Off. It can heat up the battery. The "Fully Automatic" battery tender is a .1 amp up to 1.25 amp, 'fully automatic', and "floating floating" charge as well .....cannot...

Idle Speed Motor Throttle Position Sensor Vacuum leak (but intermittent?) There is a PCV fault that can also cause this.....adding a restrictor in the line 'fixes' it

    Front Splitter for Gen II?

Some truth to that, depending on the shape and rake, but much more so in the reverse: A rear spoiler or wing, especially an adjustable one, with NO corresponding front downforce, can be dangerous at high speeds. In D6666 case, he has worked hard to 'prevent and evacuate' air from entering or...

    GEN V Engine on t.v.?

I suspect that in Mid April, Mr. Winkles might just reveal the truth of the above conjecture! I hope he gets yet another Bronze Statuette for the G-5 powerplant....

    A SIKED new VIPER owner

Old geezers like Paul Hawker should be obeyed.....his advice might save your car from a sad ending. When is "Good Tread" actually Bad Tread? When its on a 3+ year old RUN FLAT tire! Dont trust your life to old rubber.... When the Viper models first come out, many new-car buyers wait 9+ months...

    GEN V Engine on t.v.?

Good Catch Bob! I watched that show x 2, and ASSumed it was just a Gen 4 motor....but I now see what looks like a black plastic intake on top! FUNNY if they staged a G5 in that Penzzoil Ultra ad........ They did simply drop a new "nugget" of info an the TARGA RALLYE press annoucement 2...

    Front Splitter for Gen II?

You also have the option of the smaller 'GTS-R Replica' splitter, slightly-functional , less driveway-interference, and the only front OE splitter for any Viper from Gen 2. JonB ~~~~:

    Viper Returns to Rolex Series

A am most excited for a "factory announcement" from SRT Marketing included in that release ! Its shows Viper is 'involved' in 2012. I recall fondly when ORECA took the overall win at Rolex-24, not just the class trophy! Those were the days of Viper Racing, and Viper Owner Pride as a...

Do know my FE N° 1B3ER69EX2V102877 built on June 19th, 2002!!!

WELCOME Matthieu.... I like the KPH-Radar sign that says you are at 63kph while parked! What part of France? The XXX/360 number plate was randomly assigned for all but 10 of the Final Edition cars..... so the 6/19/2002 build date will not tell the #. You must find the ORIGINAL OWNER or...

    Seat lowering kit?

WHAT HE SAID.............In addition, the Gen 4 has a computer module below the driver's seat, on a welded bracket. Module should be insulated from heat and static. You MAY have to relocate it to achieve a 2" drop..... The harness has a LOT of slack, and runs down the rear seat bulkhead...

Need some emergency emergency brake help

I did say "SELDOM".... Its not the rare use that heeps the pistons too tight...its the frequent use. [Are there really hills in the gateway region !? ] The above is about SRT E-calipers........The Year Matters: if you own a 92-00, my advice is to FREQUENTLY operate the E-brake...

Need some emergency emergency brake help

Some drivers habitually "set the brake" after every drive. And leave it set for days-weeks, even in the gaerage! The more you USE the E-brake, the tighter it adjusts. ie The more you cycle the handle, the tighter it adjusts. I believe this would make it MORE likely to drag. I am one of...

Need some emergency emergency brake help

NOTE TO OTHER SRT/10 OWNERS This thread is yet ANOTHER ALERT to check the INNER, REAR E-BRAKE PAD. When you begin to hear brake-squeel it is probably too late, and you have ruined the rear rorors whilst the rear inner pads, hidden from view, were slowly dragging themselves to a premature...

    Looking for brake advice

Adjustable Prop valves: It is very important to know that Adjustable Prop Valves do NOT improve braking at either end of the car. They simply DIMINISH Braking at one end of the car, altering the Bias of the system. In other words, they 'dial out some braking' they dont dial IN better...
