You can push for a write off, but if new parts are not available, you are stuck.
Most of the time you need to suggest used parts not to write it off and sign about it. Check how the shop will warranty the fix.

Get actually regular dex3 NOT the equivalent or compatible with Dex3. And don't do synthetic oil.
