Haha. Time flies!
Read my 12 year old post on how to make a 5lug hub out of the vipers 6lug… I was then in the start up phase of the project. Life took many turns that delayed the project…
Anyway, what a coincidence, I got my “vipercobra” registred and street legal last week and today I bumped...
Hi all.
I am starting to reach the finish line in my cobra replica build (based on a viper SRT-10 2006). I’m using an aftermarket speedometer cluster which operates with a digital 12v input for the speed.
My thinking (if I am correct?) is that the stock SRT abs-sensors are used as speed sensors...
Thank you Mopar map.
Yes, im thinking the same. This would then mean that i can skip my pressure regulator since the original pump has one. Does the charcoal canister vent go into the tank or is there a “balloon” and the vent is outside the balloon..? Also, what is the fuel pressure on the...
Hi
I build an AC-Cobra replica out of a Viper SRT-10. My plan is to use the original gas tank but get rid of the vacuum canister. Is it possible? If yes, how do I connect it the proper way? I have tested to connect fuel pump outlet to inlet of my fuel rail. I have connected a fuel pressure...
Have been driving my rt/10 2001 viper the first summer for 10 years. I have the original rims and tires and feel like there must be something better looking than the original rims..? I’m thinking 19” or maybe more..?
can anyone tell which dimensions that fits (example: 19” 10”wide ET=xx, and...
So, shipping went alot faster than expected. The alternator arrived an hour ago and it is now installed and everything seems to work fine
Thanks to all of you for the support in the troubleshooting.
Hope this thread can help someone else in the same situation I was a few weeks ago.
Cheers
So, I Have now ordered an OEM-type alternator. Was interested in an “upgraded” 200Amp-version which I found on eBay but again, getting stuff to my location takes time and I don’t want to risk getting a non fitting model.
Hopefully this will solve my issue. I will get back in a few weeks when I...
Thanks Steve-Indy!
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If I try to share my experiences and how I have troubleshooted, It could save others time and money.
Again, I’m not 100% sure but I think that if the ECU connector sends out system voltage it means that ECU is ok.
When I put 12v on the...
Ok. Feeling slower than a turtle since its been over a month since I was supposed to troubleshoot. However, today I did the test you send a link to Chad. I did like following
First I disconnected the the connector coming from the ecu to the alternator. Hooked up my voltmeter to the connector...
Answers to some of the questions above:
1. Yes, battery is ok/new
2. All belt tensioning etc is in good working condition.
3. I have a gen II viper. (Also have a service manual for genII)
4. Yes I did the measurement of b+ with engine running. Tested at idle and also at slowly rising rpm up to...
Hey guys!
I can not Thank you enough for all the tips and input provided!
I am on a business trip this week but will try to dig into troubleshooting once I get back home on Saturday. I will keep you posted on the progress.
went by the shop that had the alternator earlier and unfortunately they...
Thanks alot Chad
This helps me further. Very useful info there. I have brought the alternator to a repair shop who should test it. On Monday I will check with them if it’s broken or what. Also if it’s not working I guess there is a separate “exchangeable plate” where “carbon sticks” (don’t know...
Hi there
Have been a proud Viper owner since 2006 when I bought my 2001 RT10 from the US and imported it to my location (Sweden, Europe). I have had a lot of fun with the car and it has never given me any trouble. I have used it only in the summer time from 2006 to 2010 when we got our first...
