It might be better to think about it in terms of total area rather than blade diameter.
17" fan: ~227 sq. in.
13" fan: ~133 sq. in.
12" fan: ~113 sq. in.
10" fan: ~79 sq. in.
Two 13" fans = ~266 sq. in.
One 12" + one 10" fan = ~192 sq. in.
Obviously there's more to fans than just area (blade...
Did this mod about 3 years ago...it's worked great ever since.
One word of caution: if you use stainless steel fasteners/washers, beware that stainless combined with the aluminum sills can lead to galvanic corrosion in the presence of water (which will happen any time you wash your car because...
That was precisely my intent with this thread...as time goes on, the number of shops that have the knowledge/skills/abilities/willingness to work on Vipers seems to keep going down, which is a shame because as cars go, Vipers are pretty easy to work on mechanically.
There aren't many folks on...
Gen 3+ (2003-2017) Viper speedos reference the ABS sensors - tire sizes and gear ratios don't matter much. It's always a good practice, though, to see how your speedo compares to GPS in case John Law wants to have a chat.
Personal preference here. 285/35-18 front has a taller sidewall, so...
Transcribed from the screen caps above in case the links are broken or the image hosting site goes away (emphasis added is mine):
From Dick Winkles:
Ok, here’s my “opinion” based on my 22+ years of engine testing and development with Chrysler and the Viper V-10. I’m no chemical PhD but I was...
Not directly applicable, but below is a screen capture from a Facebook post by Dick Winkles about Viper engine oil recommendations. Although what he wrote was more for the Gen 4/5 crowd that used 0w40 from the factory, I'd say his advice should still apply, especially the last part for you:
Where specifically in Illinois? Locals from your area might be able to help point you in the right direction.
Around here, we have a wheel repair service and some custom wheel dealers that don't have a problem with those sizes. There are some larger chain stores that claim they can do the...
I was always under the impression that as long as a tube of RTV sealant was factory sealed/unopened, it was still good. It was an eye opening experience for sure...hopefully I can keep others from making the same mistake.
Before you replace it, try Goo Gone or Goof Off to remove the sticky stuff. This is a commonly reported issue with older Gen Vipers - it's the plasticizers leeching out of the material.
Lesson 2 - Check the Dates
Moving forward, I knew two things for certain:
1. I was not going to be putting 3.73s back in my Viper
2. I wanted to make sure nothing else broke inside the case when I sheared off the OS Giken output stub
So with a grand total of 523 miles since its last rebuild...
P2601 or P2610?
I've not encountered P2601, but P2610 will get thrown if you either disconnect the battery for too long or if the battery is dead. P2610 should clear on its own after a few drives.
If it is P2601, you'll need to provide more details...all mods to the car, and what the car is...
Website changed: https://connectorrepairkit.mopar.com/
On the drop downs, select 2009 for the year, and then pick ZB:Viper for the platform. 2010 doesn't have the Viper for some reason, but they should be the same.
The PCM pin-outs are "Module-Powertrain Control" C1 through C4.
I’ll share my own experience with the service manual, but keep in mind that the electronic version I currently have in my possession may be quite different from what you received for Christmas.
The 2010 service manual I was gifted a few years back from another Viper owner has a pretty...
This site currently isn't working (hopefully temporary), but outside of the electrical service manual, it's as good as you are going to find:

The data in this thread is all over the place, so let's clarify.
You are selling Gen 2 idle air control (IAC) valves, part number 4778637AB.
The Gen 3 idle air control valve is still available (part number 05245352AC), but will not work in a Gen 2, hence why you had the Gen 2 IAC valves...
If you do the work yourself, I'll warn you in advance that it is time intensive, and requires some specialty tools that you may or may not already have on hand.
Due to the time and effort required, I would recommend replacing all bearings and seals while you are in there. You'll be extremely...
Do any messages pop up in the odometer?
From experience, a low tire pressure warning will make a chime, but it'll also pop up a low/flat tire warning in the odometer. TPMS light may or may not turn on depending on whether or not the bulb has burned out.
