Probably some of it, but if I recall correctly, there's a sizeable cutout in the belly pan to let some of the heat out from the stock Gen 3 exhaust with the "ring of fire" cross-over.
For the most part, this will serve you well, but there are times when there are legitimate reasons to stray from the owner's manual recommendations. The best examples I can think of are with engine and differential oils, specifically for a Gen 4.
Engine Oil

Not sure - I bought my car used with <10k miles on it back in 2011, and it was at least another 9-10 years before I started noticing any creaking.
A lot of it has to do with the environmental conditions and how the car gets used - mine is more of a weekend toy that spends most of its time in a...
Squeaky, creaky door hinges?
This is a fairly common issue with Gen 3/4/5 Vipers...I've certainly noted it from time to time with my own, but I never really took the time to figure out why. I had tried spraying the part of the hinge I could see with the door open, but it never seemed to fix the...
I have no idea how everything is wired for the window motors...maybe @Steve-Indy can help point you in the right direction for trouble shooting.
Random idea: @pokeyl (same user name on the other forum) was having an issue with one of his regulators on his Gen 3 (same basic design). This was his...
Auveco also appears to be a company that is a business-to-business type of outfit, but if you can find something that looks like it would work on their website, you can simply search for that part number along with "Auveco" in Google and usually come up with quite a few distributors that deal in...
Please let us know how it turns out, and what it actually takes to get the job done. I'm essentially flying blind by referencing what I know of my Gen 4 and what I can find online...that's no replacement for the ground truth though.
Two other random things that may or may not matter:
1...
Not what you asked for, but there are some pics in this thread that will give you an idea of what most Double DIN head unit installs look like: https://www.viperclub.org/vca/threads/gen-3-4-double-din-head-unit-diy.678508/
Apparently the correct term for those clips is "U-nuts".
A quick Google search netted me the following info:
Mopar Part # 00152493
Available here for $5.50 for 4 clips: https://www.viperpartsrackamerica.com/index.php/products/2003-2013-dodge-viper-srt10-u-nut-00152493
It's apparently a...
Yeah, I'm probably past due for a rebuild, but they still seem to be working quite well, which is why I haven't bothered.
I have 500/800 lb/in front/rear spring rates. If you do get yours rebuilt, you can probably also get them re-valved for lighter springs, but I'd have no idea what...
You'll need a bunch of screws. I'm not sure if the parts numbers and quantities I'll list below are 100% accurate, but I came across some of this info in a parts manual I downloaded last year from the Roe Racing website (which now looks like is no longer available).
There are 4 larger holes -...
I sent you a lot more info in a PM, but I've been happy with my newly acquired Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s:
Ordered from @JonB - showed up as pictured above 22 hours and 43 minutes later.
Michelin also makes a solid tire that I wouldn't hesitate to run on my mostly street driven...
You'll certainly buy yourself more adjustability, but it may not be in a range that matters to you for overall comfort on the street.
There are two additional thing you can adjust with the 2-ways over the 1-ways:
1. Compression
2. Canister pressures
For comfort (street driving), I generally...
