    Differential on Gen IV

How do you like the Wavetrac? I've heard good things in general, but not much from Viper owners...

How difficult is it to remove instrument pod trim?

It's not the end of the world if you don't...I've never heard of anyone accidentally setting off the airbags, but you never know, and it would suck to have happen. Now, if I was pulling the wheel, I'd probably disconnect it, but since I was installing LEDs when I installed mine, it was going to...

How difficult is it to remove instrument pod trim?

Safety first. (I left my battery connected)

How difficult is it to remove instrument pod trim?

You may not have to, but it makes it a lot easier to work in that area, and is only two bolts.

Anyone have experience pulling 14 ga. speaker wire

It is much easier on the driver's side than the passenger's side. The driver's side is pretty straightforward...just pull the rubber flexible cable routing thingie up on the door and body side, and shove the speaker wire through...it won't take too much effort until you can grab it and pull it...

Carbon ceramic brakes for the Gen V

How's the view from up there?

How difficult is it to remove instrument pod trim?

Just have to drop the column...I also removed the seat to give me more room to work. The steering wheel can stay attached to the column.

Ron Fellows ZR1 School, Spring Mountain?

Looks like you had just as much fun as I did...I definitely want to make it back out there for the level 2 course (although I could probably stand to repeat level 1).

Window Regulator -GEN 3/4 Archilles Heel

If you dig back in this thread, you'll find that they tried to do something similar for our cars, but it won't work because of the way the BCM controls the window indexing when opening/closing the doors. That I know of, they never were able to come up with the correct sensor to allow the smart...

05 and 06 possible recall coming

Yes...it would affect all Vipers from 2003-2010, and possibly the 2013s depending on whether or not the rear knuckle is the old design just flipped.

Not a coincidence when it was implied in your posts.

Almost as good as suggesting that a DOHC motor would be a simple thing to develop and package in a Viper.

    11.1@ 127 Pretty strong!

Personally, I think SRT should have offered two engine options: one being the current motor, and the other a 5.5L DOHC engine that revs to 10,000 RPMs. While they are at it, they should also offer a 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 speed automatic; 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 speed flappy paddle; and a 4, 5, 6, and 7...

    Paxton oil return leaking

What type of fitting is it? Teflon tape is generally not recommended in applications where a small piece can break off and possibly find its way into moving parts...if that's the case, you'd use the liquid/paste version available at any auto parts store. If it is an NPT (pipe thread) fitting...

05 and 06 possible recall coming

I think you might be jumping the gun a bit on this one...the Feds are looking into a couple reported incidents where the knuckle that provides the attachment point for the rear toe link cracked. An investigation does not mean a recall in any way, shape, or form, and the issue has been discussed...

    Feds Probe Viper Suspension Problem

The Gen 4 arm does not appear to be different just by looking at it...I'd be very surprised if it was.

    Frame rails

The belly pan would prevent you from being able to do that, but you wouldn't want to do that anyway. The frame rails that run on either side are a better choice.

Dyno Results progressive- Gen 4- stock, Random high flows, full Belanger, + Mopar PCM

Re: Dyno Results progressive- Gen 4- stock, Random high flows, full Belanger, + Mopar Looks like the Mopar PCM did a good job of smoothing out the large dip you were having between 4,500 and 5,000 RPMs. Thanks for posting the results!

    Dusty Viper-What do you do?

You might want to try a better quick detailer then...I've been using ClearKote Quik Shine for the better part of the last 4-5 years, and it is the closest thing I've found to Zaino Z6 as far as leaving the surface slick, doesn't haze, and is generally pretty cheap.

    Thoughts on Car Covers

I've always been a bit leary of car covers for outdoor use...a good gust of wind can easily unseat it, and then it'll sit there and flop around on your paint until you discover it. The ones I've used also don't seem to keep the car very clean at all.

    11.1@ 127 Pretty strong!

Correct me if I'm wrong...it does have a 3.55 rear gear, but the transmission ratios have been revised (2.26 1st gear vs. 2.66 for the previous Vipers) so that first gear is even LONGER now than it was with the Gen IV (2.66 1st with a 3.07 rear gear). That isn't helping matters any in the...

Gen V close to the 10's

None of those were really clean passes, so there's definitely more left in them. Get a good day with a negative DA and you'll easily see 10s and 130+ traps.
