Working on cosmetic "stuff" between drives. Working with some guys to make new and improved Gen 1 door latch/release moldings. They have turned out really nice but require slight trimming of the door panel.
Bought new stanchions and I'm bummed about the options.

My coolant gage is intermittent. It is reading correct but sometimes goes through periods of going dead then back to life. I have disconnected it at the sensor and reconnected it with no change. Thoughts?
1) What is everyone doing for Gen 1 fog light bulbs? Buying $300 bulbs or changing to something else?
2) Best place to view Gen 1 parts diagrams online?
Bonus Question) what is everyone doing for all the light bulbs? Are there popular LED conversions or is everyone staying stock?
Bought the car a year ago from an estate and got it dirt cheap. Was planning on Gen 2 until this came along.
16,000 miles and in good shape. However, the Manuals are not great and there are many idiosyncrasies that can only be learned by seeing another one or asking to other owners...
I don't know about the liner issue in the block. Do you mean dissimilar metals? Or, is there some common problem people run into when doing a head job?
