The stripes look great up close. Whomever put them on did a really good job.
This was the one on ebay and autotrader being sold out of Texas. This would be my 5th car bought on ebay with no problems.
Finally purchased another viper this week after selling my 2004 SRT10 a year ago.
1997 Viper GTS coupe 19k miles. Mods are only Headers, HiFlo Cats, vinyl stripes, and a short throw shifter.
Theres an orange one in town here in Sierra Vista, AZ. $240k car. You could make your Viper 2X faster with 1/2 the cost if you really wanted. Twin Turbos as stated before. Lucky the guy that drove it even wanted to race you in the first place.
3.2 sec 0-60 and 10.9 in the 1/4 mile...
Any larger diameter tire or wheel can be EASILY fixed with a programmer or a new tune. Just a matter of taking the Revolutions/min of the tire and entering it into the programmer. The rev/min of the tire is available from most online stores that sell the tires.
If you ever want to fill...
Well the Viper isn't for everyone. Esp. the timid. Another reason what makes the Viper so much better to own.. Only a real car guy would drive a Viper.. when I hear the reasons why people bought the Vette over the Viper I just chuckle. I use the wife test. Honey do you want to drive...
Side by side. C5 or C6 compared to the Viper is NO comparison. Sure the Z06's may but down a tenth of a second better numbers STOCK, but the are not built equally. Side by Side the Viper is HANDS DOWN made better and made focused PRIMARILY on performance over the Z06's. The WoW factor is...
All year Viper motors are pretty reliable and sturdy.
GEN II 1996-1999 are the strongest of the Viper motors for obvious reasons. Throw high boost TT' kit on a GEN1, GEN2 (not inc. 01-02), GEN3, GEN4, and a GEN5 motor and wait to see which one fails first. Money's on the GEN2 motor lasting...
Theres a reason why they are considered SPORTS cars. Not for NON sporty framed people. Sorry for the super tall guys though. SUV's are designed for the large American. Sad, but true.
GEN 3 to 5 offer the most room, BUT if your large framed the seats will not fit you well. Reason why...
Rules vary from state to state. Reason why I keep my Legal Home of Record in the FRIENDLY Vehicle states ONLY.
Here are my game breakers for certain States:
Some states charge vehicles a yearly Property Tax.
Some states don't honor the trade in difference on Sales Tax.
Some...
Race seats don't fit everyone. Reason why most cars don't come with them.
I daily drove my Viper. Except in Snow or rain. Drove my Viper from DC to IL and will take it on long cruises w/o a second thought.... and have a blast driving it the entire trip. Course I'm used to driving 600...
I'd like to take a moment to THANK all you Viper owners who paid $80K+ for their Vipers. Sat them in their garages. Then decided to sell them when they were worth only 45k or less with only a few thousand miles. So I can have a next to new Viper GTS for only $45k. Thank you. Thank You...
I just won't move into silly areas which have Emissions testing. One less thing to worry about. OR buy some cheap 30k home or 10k trailer somewhere in the midwest to use as your legal residence to register your cars to then rent it out. :P
Can't tune out a maxed out fuel system. IF the parts Injectors and pump are rated beyond what your pushing then it could be a defective part somewhere in the fuel system.
I drive my Viper through the local automatic car wash. It works great. Saves time! Sometimes I scrap a bit but its just the under carriage. Noone can see it.
True Story. (Just not me) I cringe every time I see an expensive muscle car taken through an automatic car wash.
There are...
They didn't state what Category which makes it the GREATEST Car?
1. Getting crushed by a building and dropped from hundreds of feet in the air?
2. MPG?
3. Price.. performance...ect.
No. Been using them for over 15 years. No complaints. You do have to clean and reoil them correctly with the cleaning and oiling spray or they can flow less. But the process is simple. The biggest error I see is peaple like to over oil the filters after cleaning them.
People hate what they can't have. Its funny how UNEDUCATED people really are about Vipers and Vettes. If I hear, "Vipers and Vettes can't handle like the European/Japanese cars I'm gonna slap someone." Funny how the Vettes/Vipers hold half the track records, but yet they can't handle.
Its...
I'd stick with FULL PAYMENT up front all parts in the future. Even close friends can turn P r i c k (Really P r i ck is bleeped out?? OMG not that P WORD!!!!) when money is involved. No matter how good the shop is.. there will always be people like this out there. Nothing is more CHEAP than...
Re: Failed State Inspection ... rear and front tie rods/ rack and pinion; cheapest pa
The trick is finding the states with No Emissions, No Inspections, No Front Plates, and NO PROPERTY TAX on your vehicles. I previously registered with IL, but they still have Front Plates. At the moment...
Re: Failed State Inspection ... rear and front tie rods/ rack and pinion; cheapest pa
Get a 2nd opinion from a shop that knows Vipers. The guys at the inspection place in MO are used to looking at 10 dollar beaters all day long and see a viper once in a blue moon. But he could be right.
Re: Failed State Inspection ... rear and front tie rods/ rack and pinion; cheapest pa
Oh yeah.. forgot about that fun bill. But in comparison other states charge more in other areas. (Higher registration or Sales tax...)
