I was going to attempt to recalibrate the speedo box on my car (had 3.55 gears) because I now have 3.07 gears and 19" wheels. I had assumed I had a speedo box because the speedometer was accurate when I had the 3.55 and stock wheels/tires. I removed the ECM cover to find that there was no...
My shifting was not great on that pass. I had some better shifting on other passes, but no where near perfect. I will continue practicing and hopefully master it. Thanks for the insight.
Here is the only video I have. It was 11.91 @104 mph. I missed 4th gear. Can anyone tell me why I am bogging down after the initial take off? I am holding the pedal to the floor. I still had a good 60 ft at 1.65. Thanks!

I know. I think my problem is I am used to launching on the street and I am too easy on the gas. I wasnt giving it enough throttle as I let the clutch out and it bogged down. I will try again next time!
My clutch is still good. My tires should have been heated just fine. I think I didn't give it enough throttle when in slipped my clutch on launch, thus it bogged down.
I am shifting quickly, but might be at too high of an rpm. I am shifting around 6k. Also, on my launch, I bogged down nearly every pass. I think I wasn't giving it enough throttle as I slipped the clutch.
OK, here is the set up:
1997 GTS Hennessey Venom 500
(headers, exhaust, smooth tubes, 3.55 gear)
Stock rims with Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials @ 15 psi (345/40/17)
I dont have my time slips with me at the moment, but my best passes were all very similar.
1/4-
11.8s @ 121.5-123 mph...
justforfunrt10- I bought some Toyo Proxes TQ drag radials that are 345/40/17 for the drag strip. They fill up the wheel well very nicely, look great, and perform great. Plus, they were only $185 each.
My dad had a similar experience over 20 years. My dad collected 1959 Cadillacs and bought a car from a guy in Seattle. We live in Kentucky. The guy advertised the car as flawless. No rust. All the chrome trim still intact. Interior was original and perfect. He even had pics displaying the...
I was having my calipers replaced with some stock calipers that had been powdercoated and the mechanic called and said the rear hardware needed to be replaced. Where can I find this? Thanks!
