I put 3.55's in with my stock hydro-lok. Over the stock gears the 3.55's are a huge improvement. I put a Quaife in about a year later, made the rear of the car feel more solid and planted to the pavement. If it's in the budget this would be the time to do a Quaife too.
I saw this car with a wierd looking ball loaded up with cameras on the roof drive by my house today...said GOOGLE on the side of it...put 2 and 2 together, maped my house on the googe internets and found these pics!
I talked to a someone that works with this stuff extensively, he tried to clear it to get a glossy look, but was not satisfied with the results. It's got a texture to it, so the paint would have to be very thin to get into grain of the material. To get it right would probably be just as much...
this stuff is called Di-Noc FAQ | Carbon Fiber Film
I got a sample of it to play with...it's not real carbon so I don't really want it on my car, but it looks good.
A friend of mine did the roof, trunk lid and a few other pieces on his Aston Martin Vantage, looked good enough to make me...
no it went in my boat.
I'm good with the stock stereo in the Viper.
I like your idea on overlaying some of the stock parts. I'd like to do a carbon fiber overlay on my paxton air filter box and maybe a few other items.
I went to the hardware store bought some resin and fiber glass mat and thought I was good to go :dunno:
When I ended up with the results in the above pic...I realized I might be doing something wrong. I went on the internets and discovered the right way to do it and got the extra tools i...
you should adjust this recomendation to account for the tires not the rims. 3.73 would be good for 335/30r20 but might be too much gear for 345 or 335/25r20
3.55 gets my vote....unless you run the 18 inch wheels with shorter than stick diameter tires.
actually, it looks good..nice job. I'd like to learn how to do it. I just started experimenting with fiber glass. I built a woofer enclosure for my boat and used fiber glass to strengthen and water proof it
here is a shot of my handy work...
hahaha
Most of us are talking about the stuff Mark sells...you are probably buying his stuff through another vender or something else like Energy Suspensions products from this other Woodhouse place you found.
btw the transmission mount will fit gen IV f-bodies (and many other 2WD RWD GM vehicles)
I didn't know about a different company of the same name either.
Just doing the transmission mount will only reduce shifter bounce up and down and will do nothing for wheel hop or missed shifts.
To reduce those issues, you need the engine mounts.
