I think you are correct, two torx screws holding the ring to the door panel and three holding it to the door itself, it is actually a pretty solid mount, preventing rattles, too bad it restricts the speaker selection.
I think the ring can come out with just bottom of the door panel being loose...
The plug on my sub has only two pins, both the one that I modified and the one that was already in the car. Talking about the connector that mounts to the enclosure using a couple push pins. Still trying to figure how many channels there are really on the OEM amplifier. I should run some test...
Yeah, I am getting a bit frustrated with this stuff, not because it is complicated but because I am trying not to break anything and I have seen threads about the edge strips breaking and cracking. When you take out the speaker, there are five screws, three Phillips and two torx, Phillips...
Yeah, I peaked too and it seems seat does not move far for me either. I will try to find some plugs first before pulling the seat out, I have an extra amp to help me with this part and avoid cutting the wires. I think Chrysler never bothered to revise the manual to account for SVC sub. I...
Gen 4 does not have a DVC sub, I checked this part when I was building the enclosure. If you look at the last pic in that thread, you will see the single pair of wires going to the OEM plug. I think the previous generation, up to 2002 had a DVC sub (2X2 Ohm) though. I gotta look at the OEM...
I guess I will keep looking until something works. So far I have found the part with the fourteen pin connection, not sure about sixteen pin plug though. I cannot tell if on the OEM amp, all inputs are on one plug and outputs are on the other. The actual pinout of connections on the plugs...
Factory amp has two plugs, input and output. Just trying to avoid hacking up the wiring in case it ever goes up to stock. I have seen amp bypass harnesses, unfortunately cannot find one that would fit this car, LOL.
Looking for someone who has done it. I do not really want to ditch RB1 but would like to add more power. I hope someone has done it and there will be some responses unlike with my speaker thread. Mark Jorgensen was kind enough to let me have the wiring diagram so I get a bit of idea how the...
Took out the stock, tried to fit new ones, do not fit of course. Did some search and no real info on how to deal with this issue. I could actually fit my aftermarket mids in the OEM grills but... the OEM holes would require me to drill in the speaker surrounds.
I looked at the opening and...
I took the car for a test drive and sub works pretty good, I cannot tell it is there but if I turn it off, I can tell it is not there. IMO, this is what this should be all about. The suspension on the sub needs to break in and loosen up a bit, then there should be even more output...
If I can do it, you can do it:2tu: No special skills required to build a box like this, as you can see from the build pics. I would check your sub if it is working first, measure the resistance across the terminals to make sure the voice coil is not on its way out. In or out of phase should...
All buttoned up
The install was rather uneventful and the enclosure mounted just like the old one did, it. The bass is not loosening up fillings in my teeth but it is pretty tight and balances well with the rest of the OEM system. Good thing I took some pictures since it will never be...
So little separation between climate control and head unit. I am not criticizing here but this looks kinda funny to me, there really should be a recess for the head unit to mount flush, this looks like it sits a bit above the trim piece. Maybe it should have some kind of trim ring?
So did the brakes failed or faded? Did the fluid boil? Hard to tell what happened but seeing this Viper hit the tire wall is not a good thing for sure.
Uhm, cough, I built a new subwoofer enclosure since the old one rattled real bad. You have a coupe so you can make your car pretty loud real easy, unlike my convertible, LOL. I think the simplest and easiest for you to do is to get some decent midbass in the doors and good tweets in the dash...
