I'm with you, never even heard of a closout panel before. I see it in mjorgensen's pic, but does it increase performance? Looks more like engine dress up than something to help HP.
Mustangs and Dyno Dynamics are generally regarded as heartbreakers, because they read low.
DynoJets, on the other hand, are generally regarded as what you want if you want big numbers to impress internet racers.
Quarter mile times (and butt-dyno) are what really matter, though ;-)
Good question, that may have been its first pull, which would make sense, as the puff comes at close to redline... may have just been some condensation blowing out. The later pulls didn't have the puff. Someone more intimate with the engine may be able to better explain, though. I could be...
I have Nitto 555Rs for the Challenger.. Very sticky and awesome when warmed up and going in a straight line. For regular driving, should be fine as long as you're not cornering hard or driving in rain. And, of course, shorter life than other tires.
Went to a local Dyno Day this weekend, and the Viper was a hit!
Dyno'd at 535 rwhp, bone stock. I was pleased - was expecting 515-520ish.
Lots of videos taken of it by people there... first one includes my other 2 SRTs and shots of the dyno monitor, dyno is a Super Flow, which is a...
Working on uploading the "raw" footage, for those that want to see the unsoundtracked and full (read: somewhat boring) videos:
1. Over the shoulder, mounted on the trunk lid center (cockpit in view)
2. On the windshield (hood in view) (outside the windshield)
3. Front left fender...
Indeed, this is the Horse Capital of the World, home to lots of thoroughbreds of both the equine and the automotive! Lots of large horse farms, and tons of fencing.
Thanks for the comments, everyone!
Also the editing was done in about 20 minutes using Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7.. free software.. Each of the angles was trimmed down from about 10+ minutes of footage to just under a minute for each.
And for whomever put the comment about the soundtrack.. sorry :) The wind noise was...
Very basic. Some friends of mine had been getting GoPro-s, and well, I didn't think that kind of investment ($250+) was quite warranted yet for my skill level (at driving AND filming...)
So I've just got a basic 3 year old Flip camera that we've used off and on for a while... they're cheap...
The big hill toward the end? NO, it's an airport! Them's backroads going around the end of the runway that's built up to, you know, be level (funny how planes are like that).
Took advantage of warm weather today to put the top down and try out a new camera mount I got for making car videos. There's nothing special about this video - it's nowhere near the quality of the burnout one a little while back, just me with a Flip camera and a free warm afternoon!
The...
6 months as a Viper owner, and I'm still alive, 2600 miles later. We'll see how well I handle the -next- six months, which will be much more conducive to testing its abilities!
Got a note from Woodhouse yesterday commemorating it (this after getting my new 2011 Viper Club of America ID cards...
It drives me insane when I see people (particularly out-of-towners from little towns) pull up past the thick white line (where you're supposed to not cross) all the way up to the far crosswalk line -- which not only blocks the crosswalk for pedestrians, but also puts you outside the trigger box...
Ouch, just now reading for the first time. Glad you're OK, may want to leave further details and updates off the forum until the insurance claim is over and done, though.
Speculation is one thing, confirmation is another.
Awesome picture, captures the feeling appropriately :)
Hope this is a joke :) The building is the Reynolds Art Building on the University of Kentucky's campus, chosen specifically as the backdrop for its character. Can you see the Mario and Luigi mosaics on it?
No sidewalk is safe...
Thanks everyone! It was a nice day yesterday, so I actually got it out after its long winter's nap for a bit and caught up with the photographer for these. Way to make these last bits of winter go a little faster!
No, they're the same non-functional hoops as the rest of the Roadsters. I'm...
