    I know there isn't a clear coat on it at all since I've had it. There are some very small pits in it as well but are not noticeable unless you get really close to it. Steve340, can I buy something from the auto store to clear coat it myself or do I have to take it to a shop?

    Like most of us with older snakes (96' GTS), I've started to see that the aluminum gas cover is becoming a little dull. Besides paying $ 550 for a new one, what product can I use to get the polished look back? Sandpaper? Take it to a machine shop?

    Vipers Reilable?

    I think it would be foolish to think Vipers or ANY other car is bullet proof. ALL cars deteriorate over time. You can't judge a cars maintenace history on just 20k miles. To get a true felling of how reliable they are, the "daily drivers" with a few years under their belt need to post here...

    Re: Rebuilt 98\' Viper GTS value? When I was looking for my 96' GTS. I found several salvage titled cars that were selling about $6000 - $7000 less than a clean car. That's what I'd put it at. Also figure in any mods you may have as a plus at about 50% of their new installed value.
