Not sure I totally get your point. Are you stating that tuners will not be able to get significantly more power out of the Z06?
I suspect the power is there in abundance, at least that's what the tuners are suggesting. I have no idea why GM is holding back this power. I know they don't...
Stock Viper does appear to outrun a stock C7 Z06. The consensus seems to be explained in the following link:

GM really doesn't want to put a gas guzzlers tax...
Viper will most likely win tonight's Brickyard Grand Prix race. The Corvette will be no where in site after the massive BOP (balance of power) adjustments that have been made for this race. Ferrari will be your biggest competition I suspect.
Adjustments made for Brickyard...
You're very welcome. While I'm definitely a "Vette Guy", I think that Vipers are pretty damn awesome cars as well. I hope both brands can continue to survive for many years to come.
#93 Viper Pitstop - Watkins Glen (removed privacy from video)
Was at Watkins Glen this weekend. I'm a Vette owner and was part of the Corvette Corral. I was fortunate to win a "Hot Pit" tour. While the timing didn't work out for me to see one of the Vette's pit, I did get a great view of one...
As a Corvette Racing fan, I have to put the blame on Van Halen....errrr....Jan Heylen....for crashing his car causing the end of the race to be under yellow.
All kidding aside, congrats to Viper for the win today. We'll get you next time! :-)
I know it's frustrating when they take away something you like. For me personally, I don't like the Prototypes (especially the P1). But it's a selfish reason to be honest. When you watch the coverage, that's all they talk about for the first 1/2 hr of the race. It seems like they don't want...
I was at that race, in fact it was my first ALMS race ever. I'm a Vette owner (C6 Grand Sport Convertible) and was there to cheer on the #3 and #4 Vettes. I was actually expecting the #3 car to win the race until that nasty tire wall crash on Saturday while attempting to beat the Viper...
