    Car&Driver:ZR1 beats the Viper...again

The new Viper pulls to 6400 RPM which is 147 MPH in 4th gear. The RPM drops to a bit above 4900 RPM and 150 is a hare over 5,000 RPM once the 4-5 shift takes place. So the 150 MPH is kind of an unfortunate mark with the new gearing and tire sizing. They either need to raise the rev limit to 6600...

Monday we find out who is faster at Laguna Seca, ZR1 or Gen V

The Viper not having the DCT and AWD would need to have more like 800 HP to be superior by the same margin as the 1996 GTS's back in the day. The only problem is that with the advent of forced induction on a lot of the other platforms out there it would take very little for them to just up...

RSI TWIN TURBO KITS availabe now at A&C PERFORMANCE!

You cannot really look at those numbers because the dyno roller was light not loading the turbos even for a dynojet from my understanding. The car has to be re-dynoed for some real numbers on a more accurate dyno. If you look at his street racing videos, the car is definitely fast, but in terms...

7500 RPM Viper Engines with BBG Comp-R G4 Cylinder Heads

Toddy, are you suggesting that you are providing the technical expertise for Arrow Racing Engines to R&D how to get more power out of a set of Gen 4 cylinder heads? Or are you just having a local head porter do some work to a set of Gen 4 cylinder heads and bolting them onto a motor purchased...

Ati-Lag GTS test... Mother of God!

That's actually a bone stock 1999 motor with some T-6 80 mm turbos with a PRO EFI engine management system when they were dialing in the anti-lag for the starting line at the 1/4 mile. I know because I designed, prototyped/built the turbo system and installed it myself! So far the car has run...

    New AEM Infinity 10 ecu?!

Upon initial release, is the AEM Infinity 10 going to offer flex fuel and 2-wheel slip percentage based traction control? Or will that come later? The reason I ask is because I have read conflicting information on this subject, Thanks!

    New AEM Infinity 10 ecu?!

Dan, I have already read what you posted on this topic. I was hoping for a response from John Reed as he makes PNP for all three ECU's being compared here. All I am asking is if I understand correctly if the Infinity 10 PNP for ~5k will allow the Gen 4 to be tuned for what most of the guys who...

    New AEM Infinity 10 ecu?!

John could you elaborate on exactly the ~5K PNP AEM Infinity 10 will be lacking as compared to a Pectel or MoTeC?? I mean if, for ~5K PNP, it can do front vs rear wheel traction control based on wheel speed slip percentage as well as all the other more standard tuning duties that is expected...

Chrysler will limit stores selling SRT Viper

Limiting the sales portion to the bigger dealers will at least SRT greater control over price gouging which is always a problem with releasing a new vehicle of this stature. It will be challenging as noted by ViperJon to get the car serviced if the dealer is far away.

Long discussion interview with Ralph on SRT Viper

One of the most significant things Ralph said was that the Viper has had the unfortunate myth of being a straight line "American Muscle Car"....... It is funny that he said this because, now that I think of it, every single person I street raced that I spoke to after racing through the curves...

    GTS-R at the Track

You guys want a sequential transmission for the Viper? Here is one that is already in a couple of Gen 2's and Gen 3's Sebastian @ NLR can get anybody here one of these boxes: I just copied a post he made on another forum with some pics. I believe this box is about 25K. 6 speed sequential...

    Motons Installed By Woodhouse

Jody, 4 seconds per lap is a LOT faster! Congratulations on the upgrade and the car looks fantastic! I have a questions though: 1. Did you do the usual JG drive the car there, get a round trip ticket to fly home and pick up the car when it was finished? 2. If the answer to number one is yes...

    Dry sump

You should see Bill Dailey's latest creation for the Gen 3 that is like the Mitech in terms of locating the pump directly under the crank except it is all CNC machined http://www.viperalley.com/forum/viper-discussions-srt/90708-nlr-viper-10.html look at post #200. I believe Sebastian is the...

    Dry sump

You would have to call Mike and ask....... Definitely cheaper than the Dailey stuff. Mike LeFevers has been building 2000+ HP twin turbo Bonneville endurance engines successfully since the mid 80's and is probably one of the best engine builders in the world! Anything like this dry sump setup...

    Engine Rebuild in Chicago

Rich Grohl built a motor for me that had too much oil going to the top end of the motor that ended up spinning a rod bearing on low boost on the dyno. When I saw the oil pressure was low before we ran any boost, I called Rich and told him the status of the oil pressure. He assured me that was...
