I periodically ask if there are any great solutions for aftermarket racing-style seats and interesting pedal covers for the Gen II. I never feel like I find or receive great answers. I'm really surprised some of the usual suspects in aftermarket parts are not packaging moderately priced seats...
The only thing you need to raise an eyebrow in NJ is some make-up remover and a black Sharpie pen! :rolaugh:
Fuggetaboutit. Seriously though, if someone loves cars - even if they are just a rich d-bag who can afford some cool new car - I feel a kinship with them. Even if they have an orange...
Obsidian what is really scary is that you are in New Jersey! If a Viper is not impressive in New Jersey then Viper owners in the rest of the country are doomed. :D
I can vouch that if you drive a Viper here in North Scottsdale the women want to know why someone from a trailer park down south...
Re: Interesting build using Gen III Viper engine from Don Scharf our favorite junk ya
The custom headers they had built are slick. Check out the connector to the downpipe:
This outfit is building a Volkswagon Kaymann Ghia using a Gen III Viper engine and T56 transmission sourced from our favorite Viper junk yard Don Scharf Automotive in Wisconsin.
Deanz Rodz & Racecarz - whats next on the jig?
I find it interesting that a large cam motor with very high flowing heads still has it HP peak at 5,300 rpm just like a stock Viper engine. I would have thought the power peak would be significantly higher - more like an 08/09.
Not necessarily. Allow me to pimp the 4G63 engine platform if I may: check out Brent rau's 80+ psi of boost @ 11,000 rpm Talon that runs high mid 6s at just shy of 200 mph with its 1,400 hp. And that is a stock block folks. Now if your customer runs it lean, that is a different story (with a sad...
Since I have a 1998 solid silver I like this post ALOT, but honestly, given the newer interior door handle design, interior hatch release, and 18" wheels in case you stay stock, I have to vote for 1999 as being the sweet year for the GTS.
from Devon which included revamping the CAAP to include a Viper museum. It is unbelievable the $$$ Nardelli has made riding companies into the dirt.
Buyer: Chrysler blew prebankruptcy shot to sell Viper: AutoWeek Magazine
Just for a data point I have stock cats with the inlet and outlet enlarged to 3" and then two straight through 3" mufflers on each side and my car is crazy loud with headers. I think this says that the noise difference between the stock and Roe cats is probably small so I vote for keeping the...
"Viperski" or "Viperczyk" anyone? Autoweek saying Polish group is a bidder. Maybe Laurie on the GenI/II board has the inside scoop (he's Polish - right?)?
Dodge Viper operations draw limited interest: AutoWeek Magazine
I work at a company that employs a lot of "Rice Bois" who love their Hondas etc, and my landscape maintenance guy at home is in the same camp, but they all give props to my Viper - especially since it is a Gen II. When I tell them that I used to drive a modded all-wheel-drive Eclipse they...
I agree that parts are not much of an issue. Given the weird situation of getting Viper parts from Chrysler, most of us enthusiast owners try and get out of warranty parts from alternative sources anyway already (us Gen II guys for sure). It is the "only own a car in warranty" or "I never work...
Will the stock of dealers forced to cease selling Chrysler products be moved to remaining dealers? Or will the unfortunate dealers have to fire-sale their inventory? Or will the departing dealers merely convert into used car dealers (or continue selling other new makes they are dealers for) and...
Wow your car is inherently tall! The rear in the before pics is insane and the after shots are really high for Eibachs (which is good as the height of my car on eibachs when I got it was very unusable). That said, your car looks SO much better lower. Love those ACR wheels.
I have a PWR triple-pass in my car and my particular unit is WAY thicker than Stock. Sweet Ride was over to my house a couple of weeks ago and there is no way my radiator would fit in his car - his Paxton blower is way too close to the radiator. Perhaps there are more than one version from PWR...
