I have my license plate buried in the famous spray (hair spray IIRC). My neighbor gave it to me as a present (she figured if my car was as loud as it is, I probably needed it). I am currently avoiding a process server from the City of Tempe who is trying to serve me with a photo radar ticket...
I recently went from a mismatched set-up with Kumho MX up front and V700 out back to Toyo R888 all around. The V700 were awesome in the early days, but even though they had lots of tread they progressively got harder and harder and finally were as non-grippy as the old Pilots I used to have...
That intake would definitely not work with any thicker radiator. Here's to hoping you do OK once the real hot weather shows up this summer. Keep cleaning that car up. I know what it is like to buy a Viper that was not previously given the love it deserves. Fixing the little details will make the...
Finally got out for some "testing" of the brakes with sticky tires (Toyo R888s), the proportioning valve intact, and Tom's 40mm rear calipers on a 98 GTS. Ambient temperatures are in the 80s here so the asphalt is hot, grip is good, and testing to see what tire locks up is hard given the sticky...
Got a guy who is a real jerk talking smack about Vipers on another forum I frequent. Claim to have been an "engineer" on the team "running the old McCann Viper in WCGT last year." Thought I'd ask if that team frequents here so I could bust this guy for being full of baloney.
AudiWorld Forums...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: if I had to work on cars for a living - I would starve (same with home improvement projects). I get it done, just VERY slowly. The brake bleed was complicated by my floor jack giving up the ghost right when I got the fourth jack stand in (my garage...
GAWD replacing the plunger on the proportioning valve SUX! That little spring is so tough it is a night mare for a small hands/light grip guy like myself to get the threads started on the cap. I remembered it being a PITA and I was correct. Tomorrow I bleed then I will know where we are Tom...
I had an alignment done after I went to the current height so I think I am good there.
I did some more "testing" at lunch today and the rear is definitely locking before the front - and both rear tires pretty evenly. I have located the proportioning valve rubber o-ring in my spare parts...
Stock 99-02 Viper 18" wheels. Stock size 275-35-18 front and 335-30-18 rear Toyo R888s which are 100 wear rating at 30 psi each corner (although I will recheck).
More sepcifically if was the driver's rear that locked before I released pressure with the passenger rear just barely starting. One...
Now that I have matching compounds on all four corners I can make some better comments regarding my Tom' 40mm rear calipers (I have had them for years). I used to have sticky rear tires and regular fronts so I disabled my proportioning valve by removing the little rubber o-ring (I kept the...
FUP: we had a great turn-out for an informal Pavilions GTG. I counted 10 Vipers (8 of which were Gen IIs) plus Eddie Martin's Viper truck. Especially impressive was Buck's 99 RT with almost 84k miles. Bone stock but for a cruise control unit and in great shape with no problems. A true testament...
Mopar Boi (Gen II guy) is in town from Canuksville so some Viper folks are going out to the Pavilions. I have a Silver GTS and will try and stay close to the car so you can find us.

I just cannot get over people getting into a kind of car they have never driven before - probably after being warned to be careful - then flooring it? WTF? Are these people who have never driven a car in their life that can spin the tires? I just don't get it. I drove my Viper like a wussy for...
Now that I have some miles on the upgraded rear shocks the rear has smoothed out and it is making the sound, but your description seems to be the most plausible as my hatch glass seal is pretty tired. I'll try stuffing some foam in the latch area then go over some sharp bumps.
Now that I have stiffened up my rear suspension, over very sharp little bumps I am getting a loud noise from what sounds like the passenger rear interior corner of the car. It sounds like a piece of metal hitting the rear window but an inspection while standing still shows nothing that could...
Jon are you trying to say the Toyos are "chick tires?" ;)
Since I was not buying a set of wheels and tires mounted it was easier to go local than from you. If I was a rich guy like everyone over on the Gen III Forum and could afford SSR Comps and tires together I would have gotten them from you.
