I think you're right. The terms arise from owners and enthusiasts rather than from an official source. I've seen a magazine or two refer to the SRT as the second generation Viper, which is understandable, but they obviously aren't aware of the meaning that term has within the Viper community.
Sorry but your wrong! 1996 is the start of the Gen 2 my friend. The introduction of the GTS started the 2nd Generation. :buttkick:

I can understand why a dealer who is a board sponsor and pays to advertise here would expect that the monitors not allow other dealers to post their deals in the forums for free. But posts by board members about other dealers' deals shouldn't violate that rule unless there is evidence that it's...
Re: BY MANY REQUEST - HOW TO LAUNCH YOUR VIPER DRAG RACING TO OBTAIN 1.6\'S

This could be true about the road race compound, but I have a hard time believing the autocross compound would act that way. Autocross tires have to heat up quickly for what is usually a 20-30 second run, and then they sit for 30 minutes or more between runs. If they heat cycled the way you...
Of course they don't want people using them on the street, primarily because a wet road would be like ice. But if they'll withstand triple digit speeds and repeated high speed cornering on a road course, I have a hard time seeing how they'd be dangerous on the street (assuming the street is...
How does "special order" = available? Last I heard (from Luke at Tirerack last week) the rears were supposed to come in "later this month," but with tire mfgrs that's often next month, or the next month, etc.
And does anyone know the difference between the two tread compounds? (obviously one...
The B&M used to have adjustable positive stops, but they discontinued that feature a couple of years ago, apparently because a few people didn't adjust them properly and had problems. As you noted, several companies haven't updated their website to show pics of the new "stopless" design; I...
