    Advice on 95 vs 96

I looked before buying mine...and I think I may have some info on these two. My memory may not be perfect...but I think I know a bit. The '95 was sold awhile ago by Bernie at BJ Motors and seemed to be beautiful. It was later listed on the Manheim Auction site...and is now obviously at the...

    Advice on 95 vs 96

I just looked at the dealership site with the '96. Yeah...there's something funny with the NACA duct and striping, as well as some goofy steering wheel, aftermarket stereo, etc. I have a real issue with detailers "thinking" they are doing the right thing by soaking the dash with dressing...

    OEM Drivers Side Headlight

Not to hijack this thread...but if anyone has a "spent" headlight and would be willing to part with the upper grey rubber drain tube....I sure could use one. My 96 is missing this on one side.

    Barrett Jackson Insurance Collector Car

I just did an on-line quote too...and wow! A huge difference from what I have now. I guess one question I would have in looking at my policy is whether these plans are Full Tort, etc. I mean...there's no such thing as free lunch...so I'd like to know why these seem to be so reasonable.

    96 RT/10 door plastic trim

If we are talking about the same things, and it's a 96 RT, they are MS73RX8 (l) and MS72RX8 (r). Right is still available from parts folks...left is not. On back order for who knows how long. I am referring to the parts that are inside the door jamb where the seat belt anchor comes through to...

    pentestar

Somewhere around 1963 through 1971 the pentastar was placed only on the right fender...presumably on the curb side for identification. All Chrysler built cars got this. If memory serves it was a new corporate logo that needed exposure. Some say it went later into 1972, but at least my '72...

Building new garage - Need advice

lagalaxy13..sorry for the delay. The height to the ceiling fan is just over 13'. When I used to raise the lift to max height with my frmer 03 Cobra, I had to make sure the car was far enough forward or the antenna with just touch the fan. Due to the ceiling sloping to match the roof, I...

    Trip Computers

I have ScanGauges in two of my "daily drivers". Easy instal and very helpful. One nice thing is the way it monitors trips. Each day it starts a new "today" trip; each time the car is shut off for more than 4 minutes it starts a new "current" trip. Also does previous day' and parameters over the...

Does anyone have a copy of the 1996 RT/10 owners video?

I too would like to know if it is different than the other years. As a recent '96 owner...mine did not come with a tape.

    97 gts trans fluid

I too would recommend the factory synthetic. I just swapped out the fluid in my new to me 96 RT and it made a huge improvement. Part of the original Technical Service Bulletin for this included a replacement stcker for the trans noting the fluid change.

    Insurance???

I placed all my collector vehicles through Grundy. I used Eugene Scott Alternative Insurance. He represents most (if not all) of the specialty firms and will check them all to ensure you get the best rate. Plus, he's a car guy...and a really nice guy. A quick google will find him. (In case it's...

Can a 93' RT/10 NY car be sold in CA

As long at the vehicle has over 7500 miles it may be registered in CA. I don't know what year Vipers had 50 state emissions which would allow registering with any number of miles.

Shipping your Viper? Do not use NAAT or Werner!

I recently had a car shipped from CA via Reliable. The seller on the other end made the arrangements. The day the car was picked up, we were told that the driver would be contacting us in a few days to give us the day they would arrive here in PA. A few days went by...nothing. We called and...

Do you use power polisher tools?

I have a rotary, a Makita BO6040 and two Porter Cables...the 7336 and newer 7424XP. When simply applying "wax", the 7336 is great. Lightweight...works very well. The newer XP has some more speed and power. I remove cobwebbing (what some call swirls) regularly with this machine. The Makita...

    1992 RT10 for sale

Jay, I did not study the car all that well...so I just can't give a detailed review. I was looking at the different Gen1s that were there for sale as I had just bought one. I only remembered it as the "Dana" car...otherwise I likely would not have known your car as "that" car. I do remember...

    1992 RT10 for sale

I think the real problem is that Vipers, even the '92s are still just too new to be "collectible" by model year. Meaning, most folks buy a Viper to drive...not to simply collect. A 1994 looks the same (almost) but could have A/C. I suppose the mindset is why pay the premium for a '92 with no A/C...

    Garage floor paint

I used solid color cement stain in my detached garage....a "RaceDeck" type tile in the attached. The tiles do clicky-clack when you walk on them, and they do not take kindly to jackstands and jacks. They also need to be left with a gap around the edges as they will swell in the heat. The...

Word To The Wise with Those Inner Fender Thumbscrews

Tonight I decided I'd aim the headlights on the '96 RT. What I call the thumbscrews are the plastic big headed "bolts" that retain that forward inner fender to the fender liner. On my car...and just about every other '92-'02 I have seen....the "handle" part of the screw is parallel to the...

    Vipers At Carlisle

I was there both Friday and Saturday although it's the first time I didn't bring a car in many years. (In fact, I have only missed one Carlisle Chrysler show since inception) At least when I looked at the Viper field on Saturday, it seemed a bit thin. Lots of empty spaces..perhaps many have...

    1996 RT/10 Starting Issue

Does the starter turn and the engine not start...or does the starter not engage until the 8th time? If it has to crank awhile after sitting...the fuel pump check valve could indeed be an issue. A quick search here will net you the instruction thread about installing a timer that allows the...

    Reverse Lock-Out Issue

Well guys...thanks for the thoughts. I drove the car today since my newfangled shifter shaft install and reverse lock-out seems to be behaving. I'll have to watch for that reverse issue, v10speedluvr.

    Reverse Lock-Out Issue

dave6666 thanks for the reply. My understanding...perhaps faulty...is that the reverse lock-out was "on" by default. Once the signal is grounded, it allows the selection of reverse. Once the vehicle reaches (I think) 3MPH the reverse lock-out solenoid is not grounded thus preventing shifting...
