    Console repair - WORLD'S first Big Dave's

dave6666....I would certainly order one, it's not worth trying to build my own. I just wondered what it was made of.

    Console repair - WORLD'S first Big Dave's

What is that part made of? Looks like a great idea.

    Hiding the V1

I went a slightly different route, but used the location above the mirror in my Cobra and Excursion. The unit came with a box that you can mount, then run a phone line cord from. I mounted the box under the dash, then routed a phone line extension with the female "box" end emblem taped to the...

Brief info on the Challenger's gearbox

I would agree 100% that a manual must at least be available. I liked the fact that my '03 Cobra only came with a manual...like the Viper. And...I don;t want to hear that you can have it both ways with video-game style paddle shifters. I'm old school...if there's no clutch on the floor...it's...

    Can't make up my mind

The link doesn' work to a specific car. Your RR is sweet though. I restored a couple Superbirds and a 69 RR convertible in the past.

Battery Tender Cigarette Lighter users I need feedback

Frank....I used to leave my GTS in trailer prison all winter and used the cig lighter plug with the window cracked. Then covered the car. The window only needs the slightest opening. I was concerned about long term deforming the weatherstrip too.

    water spots

I have had some sort of water spots on the windows of my Excursion for a long time. I thought I had tried everything, vinegar, clay...you name it. They drove me nuts, especially on the darker windows. A neighbor lent me his bottle of Zaino's Glass Polish and I was amazed. It took all the spots...

Can you spot what is out of place?

Besides the obvious aftermarket radio...I'd say the slats cut out in the rear valance? I miss my '94.

    fine swirl scratches

I have found the new Zaino AIO to work very well at minor cob-webbing as well. Most glazes/waxes that hide cob-webbing do so by hiding with an oil, not really removing them. Fusion and Z-AIO will remove them and leave your finish ready for your last step sealant or wax.

    Miro Fiber Towels

I have a variety from specialty detailing type places to Target. All seem to be pretty good. Once test particular detail freaks do is try wiping a CD with a given MF towell. If it does nto scratch the CD, it likely is fine for your paint.

    Cover?

I have a cover for my Cobra made of Nextec....this is the most water repellent coiver you can buy. Some companies market them by the name Weathershield. There is no such thing as a 100% waterproof cover. Moisture gets in around the seams, et.c

Florida Water - SO DAMN HARD!

I use a CR Spotless system. Works as advertised....no spots. It may seem a bit pricey upfront, but I cannot imagine not having one now. I use the time I would have spent drying for other detailing duties, like applying Z8, vaccuming, etc FWIW, a water softener merely replaces hard water ions...

    Cargo cover help needed

Frank...I only ever saw one of those type things installed and what I noticed was that the panels it sits on..were deformed or market in some way. If you are an retentive as I am...that may be a deal breaker.

    LLoyd mats ruined!!

I had an old time upholstery guy tell me to mix Spray 9, 50-50 with water. I thought he was nuts, but tried it and it works like crazy.

So With All This Speak Of MPG, I Have A Question

I put a Scan Gauge II in both my Excursion and Cobra. A very helpful item indeed. I got it, along with the mount that install the gauge above the rear view mirror from MGT Motorsports. Their Blendmount is great as it bolts to the rear mirror post and holds the gauge. Here it is in the Ex...

    Head liner for a GTS

Okay....I guess I have to spill the "stupid beans". Around MArch or April or 2006, I had to get my car trailer inspected and the Viper was in it for winter storage. I removed the Viper and parked it beside the garage for the hour I was gone. Upon returning, I got out the small hand held...

    New Zaino stuff

Yep...I too was skeptical...but Clear Seal is a welcome addition to my car care arsenal. I also use a CR Spotless system, so after a vehicle dries, I spend the time I would have spent drying to put on some Clear Seal...or Z8...or both. My sealant lasts much longer and my vehicles look better...

    Head liner for a GTS

My headliner got two small burn marks in it...long story....but it was a fortune to replace. If anyone needs one...with two small burn marks in the fabric.....I still have it. Make me an offer. The foam underneath is good...the fabric sort of split. No..it was not from cigarettes.

Who sells the best chin guard?

Frank...I'll take a pic on my Viper. but...these are the moldings. http://www.autobarn.net/dooredmol.html I use the clear ones....any auto parts store should have them. They come two in a set, work it over the lip and go as far as the molding is long...starting in the center and working...

Who sells the best chin guard?

The only thing I did on mine was the molding i mentioned in another thread. The part that most often hits is that part that sticks straight down..and my mod protects from that. I can try to take a pic when I am home this afternoon.

    Mr.Clean AutoDry Carwash

Kmrumedy....$4 to $5 each for the filters. They come in a two-pack for around $9 - $10. Depending on the hardness and TDS of your water...they will last less time.

Is this the end of Tator Dodge and others like him?

As one that works in the auto biz, I can tell you that this is not "new" with Chrysler. For years they have wanted each dealer to be all things DC...Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep. They frowned upon any single marque store. That said, thanks to franchise contracts...DC can't simply pull your franchise and...

    Mr.Clean AutoDry Carwash

I have yet to hear a good review of the Mr Clean system. And, you must use their soap for it to work properly...and it cuts wax. I too use a CR Spotless system and cannot imagine being without it now.

    Englishtown, NJ this (MOPAR) weekend

I have been on the fence about E-Town ever since I got my flyer for it. It's now the LX.com @ Mopar Atlantic Nationals. I know I posted before about this show going down hill, but it used to be so much better. I mean, I have been going since the last '80s...and it's nothing like it was.
