    SUV to Tow the Viper

Since you would like to upgrade to an enclosed trailer some day...(excellent idea for many reasons)...let's consider you'd like to be ready when that happens. Let's figure the Viper weighs 3300 pounds. My 22' enclosed weighs 2900 pounds empty. That's 6200 pounds, with no tools, supplies, etc on...

Cut 1/2 inch off of my front valance

Agent...it's the stuff just about any auto parts store has. It looks like a clear "U" channel made of a softer plastic. The stuff I got has a caulk like stuff in the groove that helps it stay on. It comes it packs of two pieces..one for each door. I put the seam in the middle and worked my way...

    Question on trailering a GTS

Frank....this is what you want. http://www.surfcitygarage.com/detail2.php?product_id=159 I did not buy from them....but that's what I use with the Viper. Mine did not come with that extra ring on them. (And since you are likely are particular as me...I sprayed mine with that tool tip stuff as...

Cut 1/2 inch off of my front valance

I took some clear door edge molding and slid if over the bottom edge of the fascia. Now all that rubs is the molding...and when they get ugly you just slide it off and put on a new one.

    Question on trailering a GTS

agentf1...I hope you found a car. About trailering, I have been trailering for over a decade with various showcars. AN old timer told me when I started out that you should never cross the straps. He said it raises the center of gravity of the load. When I have reason to trailer my Viper, I do...

    Best Buffer?

Ditto. Porter Cable....you would be hard pressed to damage your finish with one of these. For what it's worth, there is a 7424 and 7336. The only difference is the counter weight inside the machine..the 7424 uses a 5" or 5.5" counterweight....the 7336 uses a 6" counterweight which is better...

    Calling AGENTF1 out!!!!

I can;t speak for Agent on your thoughts Austin...but a Viper would not be "perfect" to me with aftermarket tinted glass. To each their own...the bolt on stuff is fine...even the exhaust as long as the factory stuff is there with the car. I got my 2000 new, and changed to the Snake Oyl rear...

    Calling AGENTF1 out!!!!

AgentF1 's a good guy...and being particular...so what? AgentF1....wait and buy exactly the Viper you want. Condition, color, etc. I agree that stripes make a GTS. I would only want a factory painted stripe Viper. To do stripes correctly costs alot of bucks and much of the car needs to be...

    Get together at E-Town?

Steve....at least in my opinion...the E-Town Mopar show has been slowly falling apart and no one seems to care. I have been attending since the late '80's and have seen the swap meet shrivel, the car show get smaller and smaller. I got the saddest news about this show last week with the...

Spring is here! What is your Zaino technique?

Since there are fans of all the different products here, I will only stick to the original question. And, to be honest...I know we're not going to change each other's minds anyhow. First of all..claybar. Claybars work very well, with the appropriate lubricant. I use a little car wash soap in a...

    Maguire's NXT

First of all it's "Meguiars". Secondly, nice detail job..looks great. Not to start a battle...but...when NXT was first released, I tried it, and posted my results. I should mention that when this product was first released it was highly touted as a non silicone sealant with no cleaners. Back...

    Rear Bumper Bolt Question?

Glassbeading is like sandblasting. I have a cabinet so that is what I did. If you have access to a wirewheel either on a motor (like a grinding wheel), or on a drill...you can remove the bolts...brush the rust off...then spray paint.

    Rear Bumper Bolt Question?

I too had this problem. I removed them, glassbeaded them and painted them with flat black paint...good as new. You could wire wheel them too I suppose. This type of bolt with a large, captive free spinning washer is not something you will find at a hardware store. An auto body supply shop may...

    Zaino and vinyl stripes

Make sure you use plenty of lube when claying over stripes....I doubt it would hurt them. You could avoid them if you are overly concerned. And yes, you can Zaino over vinyl stripes as well. The only time I could see it being a problem would be if the stripes were textured or flat in color. If...

Anyone know the story behind this '96 GTS poster

Re: Anyone know the story behind this \'96 GTS poster I remember when they came out. I think they were an aftermarket sign that someone made. If memory serves, they were not a factory or dealer piece.

    Are 2000's really the fastest?

Re: Are 2000\'s really the fastest? I seem to remember that when the 2000s came out, there was a Steel RT/10 that ran 11.88 at Englishtown with a car mag editor driving. It was a car that was passed through the media, and I remember that more than one driver got times like that. (Yeah, I know...

    WHOLLY $#^&$#&*.......RT 10 OWNERS!!!

They do look very nicely made. But, I guess I am in the minority, as I do not "get" the look of carbon fiber. I guess ricer would be the term, but to each their own.

    valentine 1 hardwire

In my daily cars, I went one step further. I got a phone extension cord at Radio Shack that has a female end. I used trim tape to mount this piece (painted black) to the very top of the windshield. Then, I made a short pigtail that stays attached to the V1. That way, there is no wiring hanging...

Most durable tile flooring for garage??

syldogRT/10...yep, that's the Holland PA. Once I am done with the house my fiancee and I bought, I'll move there..but that's only a mile away.

Most durable tile flooring for garage??

This Spring, I plan to do garages at my new house, and the floor is the one thing that I have been researching most. We have a TV Studio, and we had the cement floor professional levelled, and prepped for a special epoxy type paint. (Now this is a number of years ago....hopefully things have...

    New Battery Suggestions

correct, if you saw the top terminal off an Optima...they are no longer sealed. How do I know? My local auto parts store cut them off for me so thatit would fit in my GTS. As the hacksaw cut through....we hard a hiss...and you could see the terminal was hollow.

Driver interior door switch won't open door

Re: Driver interior door switch won\'t open door Thanks guys....I have restored enough cars to be fairly fearless in working on the Viper. I have already fixed a couple wires that broke and lengthened them. I wondered about cost as I am getting married in September, made settlement on our...

    New Battery Suggestions

Optima would not fit my 2000 GTS either. When I went to my local Dodge dealer years ago to get a warranty replacement battery for my last Viper, they said they only have batteries with both side and top posts....and that they could cut the posts off the top to make it work. My 2000 has an...
