Nice buy. I kept looking at one, but the demand was so "hot" around here that every dealer only wanted to sell me the truck AT MSRP no rebates. I laughed and walked away.
Supposidly VM can't keep up with the demands of the motor and the diesel equipped trucks are very hard to get right now...
I have a steering wheel shimmy hitting small bumps in the corners with my 03. Looked and both front shocks are leaking. Ack!
My last 03 the rear shock was leaking. Definantly made the car handle funny.
I seem to always miss the good deals posted for sale so I may as well just post up.
I have a 03 viper and I'm looking for a set of 18/18" wheels. Mainly want to do a nice DR for the rears and 18" has a couple different sizes. I don't think I've seen many "drag packs" available for the gen 3...
No compression to me (from other engines) is from valve issues. Burnt/chipped valve. Or I have even seen something fall into the motor and keep a valve stuck open. Sounds like a bad deal. I bought a video inspection scope and can go down the spark tube holes to look at the tops of the...
Ya. I talked with mark but his is a 2nd gen so he can run smaller wheels. His street dr set is nt05r with ten spokes. Then he has a ccw drag pack for the track.
Well. I got that rsi1000 viper and now I want to consider wheel and tire options.
Easiest just use the stock rears and put the nt05r on it.
Option two. Go down to a 18" wheel or is a 17 possible on a gen 3?
That opens up a lot more options. I'd personally like to go to a smaller...
Sorry. Somehow it flipped sideways but just a quick test drive and its. Very fun. Spins on quarter throttle as boost comes on
Need to look into a good wheel tire package to get a sticky tire under gen3 brakes. Whats the latest options an pricing?
Sold a black 03 paxton vert and I am hoping all is well with that silver tt vert off ebay from texashotcars.
May need to look into wheels tires and suspension soon.
I havent even been to that dealer yet but I think a couple members on here have bought vipers from them. All seemed to have positive experiences. Hope to see you around soon. I just moved to blue springs mo.
Re: Paxton owners - GET RID OF YOUR FMU & SPLIT SECOND SETUP AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSI
Wow. I forgot about this thread.
I'm in the process of getting rid of the fuel "system" that came with the stock paxton kit. I'm seriously debating on going with a modified drop in gen 3 pump, or as viper...
To me it seems like retail's magical $ is right ~ 40k on a gen 3 with ~ 20k miles. So trade in 35k-37k. Possibly lower to a place like carmax or something like that.
I run the 315/35/20 NT05R on my SCed 03 and it is fine.
You don't really have a TON of tire options in 20" sizes. Especially a drag radial.
Also, the width measurement of tires is not 100% true from manufacturer to manufacturer. If I remember properly, the width is taken from the middle...
I've heard great things about these R888 tires. Glad a viper rear fitment size is going to be available soon. The guys doing 19/20" combos have an option also as you can get the 315/30/20 27.6 tall) in an R888 from tire rack for 400 bucks each. Not sure on a matching 19" front. Maybe...
Do you need the extra back seats ? Also interior wise the viper will be a lot tighter. Have you sat in one yet? Getting in and out of a viper takes a little extra finesse compared to a regular vehicle.
I think the BEST thing to do is see if can drive one first to see if it's something you...
Re: Paxton owners - GET RID OF YOUR FMU & SPLIT SECOND SETUP AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSI
Maybe it's the new bigger walbro pumps but the old walbro pump 255 HO pumps in my Hondas would max out a single in tank pump around 600ish WHP on boost. I know we started going to the Bosch 044 pumps which...
