Let me know how the 2nd gear burnout goes. I haven't taken mine to the track yet but would like some pointers.
Also, from my drag racing other cars experience. When you do the 2nd gear burn outs.... It's hard to explain but when you start to pull forward, don't go nuts and let the tires...
Not my story, but my buddy has a shop and he had a SRT10 ram show up where a mouse got under the intake manifold and chewed the injector wires.
Mice suck when they get into your building. It's a pain to get rid of them. I hate if you poison them, they run into a wall, die and stink for a...
Will, I did send you a text but I don't want to call you on your personal phone on your day off. I'll do a little more research and get a hold of you..
Congrats on the first viper. Be careful with throttle input as it's very easy to slip that rear end out. That was all my friend's advice when I bought my first viper.
And ya, black is a PITA. Love it when it's clean but 99% of the time you get frustrated with the small scratches.
I have an 03 vert with a Paxton on it. From my understanding the stock engine likes to "go boom" about 750ish whp (on premium pump gas)
So, from my experience with other engines and e85 along with proper tuning. I was thinking heck, maybe the stock gen 3 engine can survive a little more...
I am not sure on the coupes but when I took off the rocker panel on my vert, I didn't have to pull the fender. Are you talking about the front fender? There are a couple bolts that are a pain to get to.
Nothing against corrections. But I don't live on corrections. To me it either ran out or it didn't. I understand how they work but when world records are set. .. They don't use correction factors. Just my opinion :)
Oh ya on the boy car seat. I was amazed to see the passenger...
That's awesome. White with black stripes looks AWESOME. I'd love to own a gen V but it's not in the cards for me right now. Maybe in a couple years I might try to pick up a used one.....
BTW. The ghost door popping issue can be a plus.
"But honey, I pulled up next to the curb and the...
I honestly thought the shifts seemed fine.
This is what I would do if it were my car:
1) play with tire pressures. I never 1/4 mile raced with DRs but a lot of people that I talked to ran really low pressures, in the mid teens to 20 psi range (not sure if that is ideal on a viper)
2)...
Ya, I don't think that calculator is 100% correct.
I did 3.07 FD
added 28.7" tall tires (due to my DRs)
6200 rpms
and it says 6th can do 344.8 mph. Ya I don't think that's right....
Do you think lower pressures would help? Also this might sound weird. But 2nd gear burnouts? Get the tires hotter. When I was drag racing my 800 hp Honda it hooked way better with 3rd gear burnouts instead of 2nd. 3rd was geared to do 120ish of I remember right.
Just a suggestion...
Royman you got a deal on a white mamba.....
But I think that about 35k seems to be a realistic # for a gen 3 with about 50k miles.
You can always list it up for more and let people try to talk you down. Better start high and work down than low and get no where.
I was going to say. Show me a gen 4 for 40. I will show you 40k quick.
He must be referring to the green one on ebay by x2 builders. Current bid about 40k but reserve not met on a salvage title.
