Is the ACR worth the Money?

I'm in the middle. If you do not intend to modify the car, then you will have the factory original "super" version of the car. It remains to be seen if the increased value over time of the ACR justifies its price, but it should clearly be more valuable than the "ordinary" GTS. If you do...

Head gasket question, I want it fixed perfectly! HELP!

Interesting debate, but a little smart-alecky from a few folks. I am in the middle of the road on this issue. I suppose some folks have boundless time to wrench on their own cars so in that case DIY is perhaps best (but you still have to buy your own parts). Otherwise, why pay for parts and...

    Rear Knuckle Racing Support Brace

Do these fit the earlier RT/10? I was considering two sets for '93 RT/10 and GTS. Thanks

    Frame alignment. Please help!

If the wheels are properly aligned, tire pressures correct, and brakes functioning, the car should not pull, regardless of the frame "alignment." Unless the frame is seriously bent, there is adequate adjustment in the offset bushings and shims to get the car in alignment. I would seriously...

NSX owners suggest not buying a Viper

IMO, the pre-'97 RT/10 is not very liveable as a daily driver. I have a '93 RT/10 and a '98 GTS and the GTS is fine for every day. But remember that a '96 and earlier RT/10 has no roll up windows or ouside door handles. Even JonB has a GTS now and I'll bet he admits it is a more liveable car...

    Dust Boots For Stock Calipers

How about the rear calipers? I found seal kits at, of all places, carparts.com. I have not installed seals yet, any tricks there in light of e-brake integral to caliper? Any other sources for the seals? Note that Dodge shows that rear calipers must be serviced as a UNIT, at over $300 a pop...

    Anyone know wheel lug pattern/size?

Uh, I have never heard of limited life of lug nuts. I have hade wheels on & off my Vipers and other cars countless times with no problems holding torque or the like. I'd like to hear a definitive source on this issue, as I simply can't believe it and it isn't April yet. FWIW, Keith

Dodge has offered to replace my hood with a 1996 hood. What kind of

There may be fitment issues, but I suspect that would be true of any replacement hood, as no two are perfectly alike. make sure the tecnician replacing the hoood is warea of the myriad adjustments for not just the hood, but the fascia and headlights to make sure the front of the car looks...

Dodge has offered to replace my hood with a 1996 hood. What kind of

Yep, That's my GTS. You'll have to look hard, as it was mad in '98 & '99 only and only 21 made that way in '98

    25.5 x 12.0 x 17 scrubs on stock wheels?

Mount 'em up. They are a PITA but will mount. I've run them on my 3-spokes for over a year now. Not optimum, but they will function.

    2000 final production Statistics:

Those really are pretty big production numbers compared to many prior years. Back in 1998 there were quite a bit fewer, especially the color scheme at left, one of 21 ;-) This avatar thing is cool!

New Tuner: Grants Performance - Twin Turbos:

Given Jay's description, I'll bet cost is north of $60,000 and power should be at least 600 rwhp, with the potential to make 800+ rwhp reliably. But too rich for my blood, I could have a spare Viper for that.

    pedals

Oddly, I have no complaints about lack of dead pedalin my Vipers. My Pantera is the opposite, with pedals canted toward the center, due to the exteme cab-forward design of this mid-engined car; still no dead pedal. When I want to drive hard in either car, I am in a 5-point harness and don't...

    Suspension

Get Carroll Smith's Tune to Win. He also wrote Engineer to Win, Prepare to Win and Drive to Win, as well as esoterica like Nuts, Bolts & Fasteners. I highly, highly recommend reading these books as they are well-written and will tell you all kinds of great information.

    Stoptech Brake Preliminary Review

Jumping back into the fray, my review was preliminary, after one weekend on track. I cannot say the StopTech setup is better than anything but stock, as I have no other experience (except Wilwood on my Pantera). I will say the price is outstanding in the Viper world, but still not cheap...

    Stoptech Brake Preliminary Review

I did not do install myself, but only due to lack of time and press of business. Install could easily be done in about 3 hours, including new SST lines and bleeding brakes. Keith

    Stoptech Brake Preliminary Review

Well, I just had a fun weekend at Texas World Speedway with my newly-installed StopTech front Brake kit and Hawk Blue 9012 pads on my '93 RT/10. The other mods include Penske Shocks with 600/800 lb/in springs front & rear, no-cat exhaust, smooth tubes, K&Ns and Crower Roller rockers. Tires...
