Your speedometer will read higher, and your odometer will turn faster. I drove a GTS several years ago with 373 and no re-calibration, and, if I remember correctly, the speedometer was reading ~85mph and I was actually doing about ~60-65.
Chuck, I am very happy for you, and for us, because you will be there for Viper owners! Congratulations, and I hope your dealership will be around for another 100 years.
I use 4 10,000 pound ratchet straps with r hooks connecting to the oval slots in the frame. In the front they go straight from the frame to the D Rings on the trailer. In the rear I cross them to the rear D Rings. If you're hauling long distance, check your straps after the first 50 miles, then...
Geico is also friendly in Maryland, as long as you specify the Viper as pleasure only, and commit to putting less than 5000 miles per year on the car. I had been with Nationwide for 10 years, and Geico cut my annual premium in half, with no change in coverage.
This will be a great event!. My sister lives in Va. Beach, and this is one I really want to attend, but unfortunately, it is the same weekend as a major Steeple Chase race here in the horse country of Maryland, and I have guests coming in from out of town for it. Oh well, maybe next year...
Thanks for the feedback. Today I stopped in Greg Smith's store in Newark, DE, and had a chance to inspect the two types of tiles. I've decided to with the hard rubber compound, I think that will work best for me. I've got two set of steps and a brick fireplace "bump-out" in my garage to...
I did a search and couldn't find anything, although there is plenty on RaceDeck. Bigfoot makes a polypropylene tile (like Racedeck), and also an interconnecting tile with a hard rubber compound, which is what I'm leaning towards. There are also others like Swiss-Trax, and Fast-Flor to mention a...
Wow! Great Vid! Thanks for sharing. A track day on one of the most famous of the F1 circuits is a dream come true, and Spa in Belgium is one of the best.
When I had my '96 RT/10, Keene Dodge's body shop in Jarrettsville replaced both of my side sills, and they did a very good job, and took wonderful care of my car while it was in their possession.
'96 RT/10's are a mixed bag. Suspension, and rear exhaust is Gen 2, but mostly everything else, including engine, smoothie hood, and pop-in windows is Gen 1.
RT/10, GTS, and SRT/10 have all fit on, no problems. THe only issue I have is where I installed it. Because it's in the far bay, I can't pull any of the cars on the lift forward because I can't open the door far enough to get out. So I always have to back the cars in that are going on the...
If your HS friend got a '99 Saphire RT/10, then it was repainted, because they only made them in '01. My '01 Saphire RT/10 with Cognac interior is for sale, 4,500 miles, 1 of 120, and it's like new in and out. Extras included. It's in the classifieds if interested.
Yes, a helmet, and should be Snell SA 2005 compliant. Fire suit, neck collars, and 5/6 pt. harness are usually not required, but always recommended. Driving classes are always beneficial, especially if you are new to road racing. But remember only YOU behind the wheel of your own car. Your...
Congrats on the new car, and a fantastic garage! If you're new to road racing starting out with the '98 is probably the right move. Then as your experience and confdence build, you can give the '08 a try in order to improve your times. No license is necessary (usually), but your car will need...
I've had my '01 RT/10 listed on this sight in the classifieds, and also on AutoTrader. I received a call from someone at the Auto Toy Store in Berlin, NJ. They want to put my car on consignment. They deal in high line cars, have no Vipers, and need one to put in their show room. I was...
When using a trickle charger on my '06 coupe, where is the best place to attach the negative to get a good ground? A quick search turned up nothing.
Thanks in advance.
What's wrong with the Mobil 1 Filter? Are you saying I shouldn't use it on my Gen 3, but Ok for the Gen 2, or not Ok at all? Would it hurt to use it on the Gen 3? That is what I've been using on my Gen 2's for several years, and this is the first I've heard of this.
