Maybe Chevy will upgrade the cooling setup in these new Z06's. The many guys I know who run Z06's on road courses have had to add engine oil coolers and tranny coolers. Engine oil in these cars gets HOT.
I look forward to the new Chevy. It'll keep the SRT folks working hard.
Re: Viper Days at VIR - July 15-17 - Who\'s going?
Will be there (w/adult supervision...I need it), with both cars.
Also, trying to get Bugeater's ride fixed prior to the event...it's in my shop now. Complete with cat sleeping on roof.
I had this problem on a road course with my '00 ACR. Engine burps oil into intake box on drivers side just in front of air filter via vent tube from valve covers.
My ghetto fix: keep 1/2 quart less than max capacity in crankcase. Oil did appear to be a wee bit overfilled when I went through...
I haven't had any problems pulling away from stock Z06's on the track (at VIR). The mod'd ones will hang pretty tough on the straights (as in dead even) up to 140 or so, though, no problem.
I've met lots of good folks at the track who drive 'Vettes. Much better crowd than the "Poooor-Shuh"...
It's never a good deal when you pay full sticker price.
Regarding trade-in, you'll always do better selling your car yourself. It takes patience, but you'll get more money.
Re: 2 ACR\'s
Black one looks best...but a wing will help either ;-)
Rocket - the rims are great until they get track-dirty. Nightmare to clean, even with a pressure washer.
OK, done whining. Nice cars!
Will be there Thursday night, with SRT-10. At least one bud coming along bringing his GTS.
The sports bar in the hotel was OK, in that it means no drinking/driving...
Re: George and John F. Suck....
I gotta say, I'm impressed. I didn't see teen times in you. Oh, well. Even a blind squirrel gets a nut every now and then.
1/4 mile time isn't half-bad, either.
Perhaps the secret to your success was the free sample of space-age lube S2H left on your driveway...
Jon - formerly known as 'Mini-me,' you are hereby dubbed 'LAMER,' for 'Little Anal Metrosexual - Entirely Retarded.' Thus it has been said; thus it is so.
Carry on.
P. S. I wonder about the accuracy of the rumor that Bugeater 'flossed' with all of your bath towels...
Bug didn't respond to MeatGazer's attack, eh...
11.50 on 'motormouth,' sure. It's believable.
Yeah...G and W event footage...never saw that.
MeatGazer - will you be throwing the usual 'Village People' 3 AM pumping iron deal at VIR this weekend? Any fouled bowls not located in your abode...
AT -
Thanks for the info. It's a retired cop car (Richmond, VA), but I'm just checking to make sure it has no flood history.
Was that an insurance check you ran?
Thanks again, George
I just picked up a couple of Crown Vic cop cars as daily beaters. '96/97 models. 60 - 70K miles. Yeah they use more gas than the vaunted Metro, but people get out of your way in the left lane.
