Ours has done that since day 1. Seems worse when tires are cold and on 2 lane roads that may have uneven lanes with ruts / troughs. May be some suspension issue as well but my $0.02 is that it's the wide tires on one side or the other heading for a more "stable" state, but then the other side...
Fantastic achievement & awesome driving - congratulations to the entire team.
A great record for a great American car.
Sounds like 2012 may be the year for the Viper to see "how low can you go" and enter the 6:xx zone!!
Curious to know if the downforce numbers are calculated from the velocity or...
Re: Let\'s talk TAXES!
When I got my '94 & '96 the luxury tax was in effect. I paid the price of the car, then the GGT on top of that, then the luxury tax based on the 1st total and then state sales tax on all that for a triple taxation. My '94 $50K RT ended up being $57,500 for an actual...
With this plug "gun" you don't need to take the tire off. It pushes the mushroom shaped plug through a tube that looks like the end of the flashlight the doctor would look at your ears with. They give you a T-shaped rough up tool and cement. It comes with little pointed tips you put on the...
Todd,
Try a NAPA store for Balkamp part BK 7101028. It's a plug "gun" that injects mushroom shaped self vulcanizing plugs into the tire. This is a kit with the tool, glue and a bunch of plugs (2 sizes). It's around $100 but it's way better than the black rope, especially for larger holes...
Neil Hannemann used to race Vipers in the World Challenge back in 97 or 98 along with Bobby Archer I believe and was employed by Chrysler at some point. It sounds like typical company PR. If they told him to say the Mustang was a "real supercar" he would.
Vipers rule for now, and will later...
After it goes KZ status it will probably be within a few days. Then the Reliable driver may call anywhere from a couple of hours to a day before he is due there. On ours the driver called about noon when he was in Detroit and the car came about 5:30 PM. We are in Ohio so it wasn't too far and...
In the past they have run production up into December if necessary. I understand they are producing 1,825 cars this year.
At 55-70 per week they should be done way before the end of the year. The number of orders received would affect it as well.
Stay tuned. Viper Days is at Willow Springs this weekend. If any SRTs make it there with a driver who has been there before, you should get a comparison.
Thanks Frank,
Great news from a couple of people I know have a ton of track time and go fast in Vipers. Please, please, please let me (us) know how the times shake out at the 1st Viper Days event at Willow this weekend. Four seconds better is nuts especially figuring the Hoosiers into the...
Silver #328 arrived Tues 7th and black #111 on Thursday the 9th (Reliable driver couldn't understand why 2 different trucks either).
They are almost too nice for words. I have pictures of both if anyone is interested. Interiors and exteriors.
Probably will wait for salt bomb to subside off the...
Lets talk some delivered VIN # for each color. I heard a red #099 (with cross drilled rotors to boot). Any black or silver entries? Let's hear from anybody/everybody on VINs. My black SRT went KZ yesterday, supposedly, so I am trying to control the frothing at this point.Mine is #111.
A few years back John Henessey said before they did any modifications that the Gen I RT's typically dynoed in the 325-330 neighborhood and the Gen II were in the upper 390's. He also said the 405 rated ZR1 vettes typically only pulled in the 290-305 range. FYI.
Congrats as well. As you are quickly discovering these are fantastic cars in so many ways. Get used to the looks and welcome to the club (even though you got one of those yellow things).
Drive well, corner hard and be safe.
