Mine came off on the driver's side. It was a pretty easy repair. They just have one bolt holding them on (on the bottom of the handle) and then the top sort of wedges into the door panel. I made a cheap L shaped bracket to hold the bottom on a little better and then epoxied the top part on...
Lol I wish I knew. I spilled some of it when putting it in... because I'm super smart.
If I had to guess, I'd say I put in around 5 oz (1 oz over recommended I think).
Agreed with above... I didn't put enough friction modifier in mine when I changed the fluid and it grinded around slow turns. I added more friction modifier to it and it 90% went away.
I must have had some residual oil on there because it's dry now after two 30 mile trips. I still smell a little oil cooking but maybe there's some residual oil cooking off deep in there that I can't see. Will monitor and check back in if something changes.
I think I have it figured out. I started looking around again this am and got a camera in there and saw that there was about a 1" long sliver of the new gasket hanging out of the valve cover. Took it apart and it looks like I cut it while installing it. Smart. Put a new one on and so far so...
Hey guys. I noticed my driver's side valve cover gasket was leaking (could smell the oil cooking at stoplights, oil residue on top of header, oil pooled in spark plug well) and changed it out with a new Fel Pro gasket. Still leaking at the same spot. I also changed the o-ring in the oil cap...
I'm getting the alignment done tomorrow. For 99.9999% street driving in Florida (straight, smooth roads mostly with only on ramps for any 'twisties') and an occasional trip to the TN/NC mountains for some fun driving. I will never see a track with this car.
I read a bunch of alignment threads...
I have a really weird question for you. I live in Englewood and have a 2004 viper that I feel like the suspension isn’t working correctly on. Would it be possible for me to drive to you and have you drive my car and get your thoughts on how it feels compared to yours?
There's a guy pretty local to me that has an oem take off set from 2008 with 20k miles or something. I'm not sure if it's worth the risk to buy used struts. Do the stock coilovers/struts hold up well or are these most likely toast?
Do you feel the suspension on these cars is planted and smooth? I've only had mine (2003 SRT10) for a few months now but I'm really not a fan of how it rides. When driving straight if I hit a bump that goes across the road and both rear tires hit it at the same time, the rear end kicks out...
I can't seem to find a good fitting sun visor for this thing. Something that's actually made to fit the car and fold up flat for storage. Anybody know where to look for one?
Thanks.
