After lots of searching I just picked up a 2002 Graphite Viper GTS with silver stripes and black interior (1 of 60) with 5400 miles! This is the third Viper I've owned, but BY FAR my favorite!
Anyway, I am working on a little project and would like to document as many of the Graphite vipers...
Thanks guys. I certainly understand there is a difference in the two colors (steel vs. graphite). I guess when I started this thread, it was the "silver on silver" look that I liked. Both the "00 and "02 colors fit the bill for me. :-)
For me on this '02 that I am looking at, the major...
Ok, so as my search continues I am seriously considering an '02 GTS in Graphite with silver stripes. I know it isn't one of the two color options that I listed initially, but it is a 1 of 60 car (from what I'm told) and gives me a very similar look to the '00 Steel gray.
It is a < 6K mile...
I'm inclined to agree with the graphite/silver comment. As for the cognac...I'm not a big fan, so I am looking for a black interior.
To each their own though....if we all had to have the same color cars it would be pretty boring. :-)
Here's a very low mileage steel gray car, but the owner says that the stripes AND the wing are factory installed options. The stripes sure, but the wing??? What's the 411 on the wing on this car?
Moderator Edit: No links.
I did see that one, but if I am thinking of the same one that you are I wasn't really digging the wing that was on it. Plus, it looked like there were some tears in the seat upholstery, etc...
I'm not looking for perfection, but I don't really want any major body mofications or damage to the...
Yeah, I am determined to wait for the right one this time around.
Although...as the weather is getting nicer here in St. Louis, I am getting a little impatient and anxious to get another Viper! :-)
Hopefully very soon...
Matt M, PA: Your steel gray isn't for sale, is it??? ;-)
mattdillon: Just by the numbers alone, I am sure that you are right that I will have better luck finding the B&W GTS over the steel gray. But so far, I'm not having much luck finding a nice version of either... :-(
I'd sure like to...
Don't get me wrong, the Gen 4 was an awesome car...but it was never "my" dream car. I know that probably doesn't make sense to most, but it makes sense to me. :-) Honestly, it was more of an impulse buy than anything. That SSG paint must have somehow went straight to my brain! I had a '97...
Like the title says...I just sold my '08 SSG to get back into my favorite Viper, the Gen 2 GTS. The only colors I'm interested in are the following...
1. 1996-1997 Viper GTS Blue w/ white stripes
2. 2000 Viper GTS Steel Gray w/ silver stripes
I've looked high and low in the classifieds...
Thanks again for everyone's input. Unfortunately, the seller wouldn't budge AT ALL on the price and even added a $600 doc fee to the mix. Needless to say, I passed on the car today. Seemed to be a decent car and dealer, but i couldn't justify being $50K into the car after tax. Maybe I was...
Michael, please give Stephanie my condolences and apologies! :-)
The Gen IV was an awesome car, but it was never "my" dream car. When I think about the car I always dreamed about owning when I was younger, it always comes back to a B&W GTS. Then again...I haven't seen what is in store for...
Thanks again everyone. I really, really appreciate it. I am not as concerned with any little issues which can be cleaned up or detailed away. Like I said, I just don't want to miss something major.
In terms of price, every '96-'97 B&W GTS on cars.com, autotrader.com or ebay.com right now...
Thanks again and keep the posts coming.
I like the fact that the tires have been upgraded and appear in good shape all the way around. The door/side sill issue is a little worry some, but from 10 feet and under the showroom lights it sure looks good. I just don't want to be missing...
Thanks Red & Max! I'm trying go get more info on the door and side sill. Any thoughts on that rivot? Other than that, I'm ok with the minor imperfections. And I'm certainly not afraid of a fun weekend of detailing and tlc in the garage! :-)
Thanks for the input GTLaser. The updated pictures that the seller sent show no wear on the seat's side bolster. The scratches on the front fascia are not visible if you are standing in front of the car. It seems like the only issue might be the side sills unless I am missing something.
The seller just sent me a close-up picture of the areas I requested. Everything looks pretty good to me except this.
It's been a while since I had my other GTS, but there isn't usually a rivot in this location is there? I'm going to see if I can get a pic of the other side too?
Yes, for looks as well as for the fact that the 96-97 Blue & White GTS is the car I have really always wanted to own. I guess I'd call it making good on a childhood dream. Don't get me wrong, the Gen IV was an awesome car, but it was never really "my" dream car. When the dealer here locally...
