    what mods would you recommend first?

    Can't comment on the chrome engine pieces, but I ordered some of the MOPAR "Viper" sill panels for my '08 and the fit and installation was perfect. I think the door jams just look too plain without them. Again, just my $.02. The next piece I'd suggest is a MGW shifter knob for the Gen4...

    Agreed! I added the MGW knob on my '08 and absolutely love it. Believe it or not, the factory shifter mechanism in the Gen IV cars aren't all that bad. I can't speak for Gen III cars, but in my opinion my '97 GTS could stand to have the entire mechanism replaced as they feel a little loose...

    Kinda new with some questions...

    In addition to my SSG '08, I have a 1997 GTS too. I've got Borla exhaust, smooth tubes, a MGW shifter knob, chrome emblems, full stereo upgrade and a tinted rear window as my only mods. I've replaced my original tires with Kuhmos as well, so I feel your pain about throwing up rocks on the side...

    Kumho's?????

    A happy Kuhmo owner here on my 1997 GTS. They do seem to sling up some road dirt, but nothing that you can't live with. I really don't autocross or drag race the car though, so the tires meet my needs for a sunny day driver with the occasional spirited run through the gears for what it's worth.

    Thanks! I was pretty pleased with it. Like I said, I didn't really know what to expect but I was figuring around 510-520 or so. I don't have any immediate plans to mod it just yet, but perhaps one day. More than anything I just wanted to have a baseline to compare back to. Thanks again!
