Sorry I missed that (and all but the first 10 minutes of what looked like a great route). I spent until 3:00 getting Jamie home on our trailer. Hope everyone had fun!
I had to schedule at the Hilton to accommodate the 4 of us. Out of rooms and I procrastinated. I hope I'm not shot for the football game. Richard, do you know of anywhere we can park ACRs for the game? Karin will be going on home with kids and the trailer. Glad I'm taking Monday off!
BTW...
The danger lies between the steering wheel and the seat. Most sports car owners cannot drive very well. Act like it is capable of killing you, even going all out at the track, and you are going to enjoy the car. I've seen more vettes wrecked after the driver shuts the nannies off at the...
Amen,
I rarely take any of the snakes to work. My employees know we have 3 and are cool with it (they are well compensated and feel wanted) but some of our patients have made comments the few times I've driven a car to work. We (Wife and I) figure after nine years in college and taking all...
You are hearing from many of the "track folk" here. Just remember not to cut corners. Safety first. If you cannot afford safety you cannot afford to track on a regular basis. Stop first! I saw a dentist in a porsche end his life on a track in Indy from cutting corners. I distinctly...
Hey Tim, You make 4 then. K and B lost panels but K went and got hers when the track went cold (she actually saw it fly off in turn 10) and B had a cornerworker bring it to her at the end of the day.
Get all the tar off your car yet?
Funny Bill.....I thought I already did that.
And Jon.....I'll take a spare! Sealant was the way I was leaning and I'm going to give it a try.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Hey road course regulars,
Some of the 'regulars' in Houston have lost the rectangular front wheel well access panel while on the track for 30 minute sessions. My wife lost the same panel twice in the last 2 months with new push pins put in place and 2 more of us lost one last weekend. I...
Don't mind at all. I had them powdercoated not black chromed though. Held up well so far, 18 months and 6K miles. After waxing them the brake dust just rinses off, even after a track weekend.
Thank you Eric for organizing the route. Our family had a great time and look forward to hanging out again, even if shooter is along.:omg:
Thank you South Central Texas region for allowing us Houston folks to come along. A thorough inspection of both cars shows we returned home completely...
K and I have talked it over and plan on coming as well. Just let us know when to meet. We'll trail behind if you plan on being spirited since we will have the kids with us.
Sorry to have missed you both Andy. Your post reminds me of holding the light for my Dad while he tuned the carbs on his 440 six pack Challenger. The first time I did it I was six. Anyone familiar with the set up knows it had to be done often. I can thank him for my passion for cars, Mopars...
^^^This^^^. Do it and don't look back. If you worry about the dep hit then don't wait on the gen V. Anyone that gets one at invoice the first year has bought from that particular dealer before and you're still dealing with depreciation anyway on top of it. Like is too short.:2tu:
The ACR-X has a diff cooler system with fans. The ACR track guide from a Viper mag in 2008 said that a diff should be fine for 30 minute sessions if you give the car time to cool down between runs. If you are hot lapping for more than 30 minutes that article suggested a cooler.
