    Returning after about 6 years

Hi everyone: It's been about 6 years or so since I sold my 1996 McViper, and for some reason, the excitement never left my blood/veins, so I just sold the Vette and picked up another 1996 McViper from a dealer in Ohio, 2 owner car with 18K miles and a clean carfax. Will post some pics in the...

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

Chad: He has a buddy who is going to fix it for him; apparantly, he is getting most of his parts through X2 rebuilders, probably at least a nose, radiator, rims, etc., however he said the hood is repairable, so that will save him some big $$$$; so for $25K, and about $7K in repairs, he should be...

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

Plus, he drove the car over 500 miles back to NC, and then some when he got back to NC with no problems, so he better bring Johnny Cochrine and the Dream Team if he thinks he has a case................

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

The tires were less than 2 years old, and had less than 15,000 miles on them; the previous owner should have nothing to do with a tire blowing out, if that is what truly happened. I'm sure that's the last thing he wants to get involved in regarding lawyers and such. There are no implied...

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

Not sure; he hasn't gotten back to me yet; he said his insurance company told him he had to bring the car over to their location first in order to have it covered. He may have a small local company that adheres to their own ruls vs. a larger corporate company.........

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

That's the story he is telling me; the guy didn't seem to tentative about driving it when he was driving away, however I guess we'll have to take his word for it. I'll see if I can determine exactly what he needs, and if he doesn't go through Jon B for parts, then I will post his needs and phone...

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

I think he may need a new hood; he said he took it to a body shop near him, and they gave him an estimate for $32,000 in repairs, with the hood being $14K alone; time for him to call Jon B or X2 rebuilders............

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

It had a little over 48,000 miles on it...........

    McViper is sold.......and crashed...........

Yup, just like the title says; I sold her this past Saturday morning (for $25K as a reference if anyone is interested), and they guy flew in to PA from NC and drove it back Saturday afternoon with no problems. Unfortunatly, he called me this morning, and said he was driving to work, and he had a...

The Greatest Gen Ii Accessory Never Made!

Chad: On mine, there is a switch onn the passenger side front near the radiator that I believe is wired to the alarm system if the hood is opened. I will try it tonight and see what happens. Of course, our cars are Gen 1.5, instead of just plain Gen 1, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference...

    My Viper was STOLEN.

If they weren't stealing stuff, they would still be alive. I bet that if there were young children in the house or an elderly couple, and they had the crowbar, things could have turned ugly real fast. It's simple, don't break the law, and you don't have to worry about being shot in the...

Heed the warnings; they're true !

Chad: I did the magnet test, and it appears that my pulley is plastic; I may touch base with Chuck and see if I misunderstood him when I was talking to him way back when............

Heed the warnings; they're true !

Chad: I had spoken to Chuck the Wiz when I bought mine 2 years ago, and he said we didn't have to worry about the p/s bracket or pulley on our cars. Did I miss understand him, cuz I've had my car to his place 2 or 3 times, and he's never mentioned anything about replacing it. I will call him...

McViper - Let's see how this one does.........

I e-mailed him with the correct production of 166 units, not 500; the highest offer I got for mine with 47,000 miles was $27K, and then the guy changed his mind. Hopefully, his will go higher, but not sure it will reach $40K; anyone know the owner or the car???? eBay Motors: Dodge : Viper...

The TRUE Value of a McViper

Swap out the wheels and it looks like any other red RT/10, but you're stuck with being stupid. Classic...........:2tu:

The TRUE Value of a McViper

I agree, the whole idea of the market being low is somewhat obvious; I had people e-mail me and offer 20K for the car; that's not even a fair offer; I mis-spoke on one of my earlier posts; E-Bay is a great place to advertise a car, not necessarily sell a car; I had a couple offers within a grand...

The TRUE Value of a McViper

I guess we'll get a relative indication on the current market value in an hour or so when the auction ends; I always keep in mind that while E-Bay is a great resource to sell a car, it's not always the best indication of what the car is actually worth. If the auction ends at $21,000, most would...

The TRUE Value of a McViper

RobZilla: There was another one out there that only reached 22,200 or something close to that, missing the top and the windows; mine has a ton more work done to it by Tator even though it has higher mileage; I'm not going to tip my hand before the auction ends tonight, however we should get a...

    Changed the oil...

It was a great write-up, however simple the process may be; still looks like there are differences in opinions on how much new oil to use; one add-on, I usually let mine drain overnight; I'll let it drain right before going to bed the night before, and then finish it up the next day, so it saves...

Struck gold if you own a McViper...............

Dad's Toy: I looked at all 3 colors of the '96 RT/10's and decided on the Red/Yellow theme; it's weird how it can sometimes look awful in certain pictures, however in person, when all cleaned up, they get a lot of compliments; the white/blue is pretty cool as well, with the black/silver being...
