Never had an issue with the AC at any speed. I rarely use it, but I sure did this past weekend. Even those of us with 'verts, I sometimes run it just to keep everything juiced. I would have it checked.
Scary, ain't it. I think the problem with all Gens is hooking them up. Tires just break loose, without traction control.
Amazing times we live in, when one of the fastest cars on the planet of 10 years ago is now considered slow by today's standards. We'll be bumping up against the laws of...
Welcome. As the owner of a 2003 Black 'Vert, you have great taste in cars. Agree about the tires. When I swapped the originals to PS2s (which are now bettered by Super Sports) it was like a different car.
Enjoy, but BE CAREFUL. Even at 59 degrees, the rear end can get away from you.
I hear that. If I weren't looking at houses, I could be "tempted" to trade the 07 SRT8 Charger, and the 03 Viper, plus a loan, plus $$, and the rest of life paying it off to get into one!
I'd be interested in this as well. I curbed and gouged my left rear 5-spoke last week. I have a refurbished one wheel on order from VPA, but a couple folks have looked at my wheel and said it's repairable. So, after I have it switched out for the new one, I wanted to have this one repaired and...
Peer, this is the best post you've made in this thread, and I agree with you. Thanks. You are in my region, by the way. Can you make it to a PA or DE Viper event? Lots of good people, and would like to meet you and see your car.
"If I said that all vipers prior to the Gen 5 are trash then you should quote it. Go ahead and search any of my posts and find one where I said previous gen vipers are "trash", or anything even remotely close to that. "
Peer, I am not saying you used that word, you sure have made that...
We previous Gen owners don't argue that new car is anything short of fantastic. We have a problem with PeerBlock's condescending comments, and dismissal of the previous Generations as essesntially trash.
Wow! And for the record, I owned a 2000 Neon (very reliable, by the way) and the interior of my 2003 Viper is a "bit" better, LOL.
Peer Block, I understand the points you're trying to make. Believe me, I appreciate blunt honesty as much as the next guy, but your comments do come across as a...
Agree, and thank you. I've never been an "interior" guy. My Gen 3 has the basic stuff to get the job done. Not that I don't like super luxury, it's just that it's never been a deal breaker for me. I just had an issue with his disrespectful comments towards both the Viper and the Honda. No call...
Wow! S2000? It may look like a couple other things, but an S2000 isn't one of them. By the way, pretty insulting to an s2000, and from what I understand, that's an outstanding performer.
Those are some pretty douchbag comments.
Agree, this statement irritated me. I don't think he meant it to come out like that though. It would be like saying: "no Ferrari prior to the 360 is worth owning (because they are mainainance nightmares, real or perceived)" .
Thanks for the great writeup. This is not your first performance car. Your 335 is ver high performance car, albeit way different than a Viper. I admit, the first time I drove my Gen 3, it was intoxicating, and still is, after over 3 years with it. I can only imagine what the Gen 5 is like. And...
I don't have a new Viper, but I do have a 2003. Viper. I signed up for Twitter just now, and am following Ralph and Drive SRT. Now I just need somthing to tweet!
This. I've stalled my Turbo Dart more times since I've owned it in January, than any of the high-torque manuals I've owned combined" Viper, Jeep I6, F350 Powerstroke. It's really pretty funny.
