Prospective owner questions about 08-10 coupe-hope this is the right place to ask

There are MANY of us Viper owners here in suburban Philadelphia. Quite an active area, actually. While I have a 2003, feel free to PM me, I can give you my phone number, and we can talk.

First new Stryker red in at Woodhouse

Interesting enough, the buttons on the dash and steering wheel are IDENTICAL to what are in my 2013 Dart! In fact, the wheel itself is virtually identical, except for the "flat" bottom part. Just sayin'..... It's a compliment, because it's damn nice!!

First crashed Gen V on public roads?

Very sad indeed. He was an SRT engineer working on the Viper project?

My Launch Edition 12/150 is home now!

Ron, congrats! The car is gorgeous, and I love the 5-spokes. (Of course, I am partial to them because my 2003 and my 07 SRT8 Charger have very similar 5-spokes). Enjoy the car, and we look forward to you sharing your thoughts and driving impressions.

    Modena vs Gen4.

I hear that. My Viper was bottoming out the entire WC C&C Spring Drive in Lancaster County. That being said, I was on the drive with multiple Fcars (360, 430 Scud, and 458 included, and my 10 year old car can more tha hold it's own. (As long as there are no frost heaves or buggy ruts, LOL!)

    Viper racing at PBIR YESTERDAY

I live coupla mile from the local McLaren dealership, and they bring a car to our Cars and Coffee most Saturdays. Gorgeous cars, but I bang my head every time I get in and out, LOL! For the money, I'll take a F458 and call it a day. Oh, and yeah, I'd MUCH rather have the Viper as well!

Battery recommendation - Optima Interstate vs. Diehard Platinum

Diehard Platinum here as well. No trickle charger, just keep car in "sleep" mode when it sits (in a cold garage) 3-4 weeks at a time. Works great.

Best comment you overheard someone say about your car...

I was about to say the same! (Hey, we're only messin' with ya!) But I see your point. I will be 50 this year, and am driving a 10 year old sports car that I had to reeeaallly stretch funds to get into. Most don't realize that their fully loaded Ford Exploder probably cost more...

And so it begins *** DEALER MARKUP***

For 190K you can get into a F430 or maybe even a 430 Scud. Now the new Viper will leave those two in the dust (maybe not the Scud) but you see my point.

    Safety Recall on 03 & 04 Snakes

My car is 10 years old, with 30,000 miles. I am driving it with no worries.

    Safety Recall on 03 & 04 Snakes

Yes, I am a third owner, and I was notified. However, I have my car dealer serviced, so Corporate knows where I am. If you are not original ownere, and have never had your car dealer serviced, you may not be notified.

    Mopar Performance Venom ECU Q's

Just be careful that you stay emissions exempt here in PA (under 5000 miles annual) because it will not pass.

The genIV oil pan upgrade works!

Goes to show how strong the motors are even without the upgrade. I don't track my car, or this is something I would certainly do on my 03.

    Modena vs Gen4.

Eric, you should have your Dad bring it to our WC C&C. Another of "our guys" just picked up his TDF Blue 458 Spyder from Algar on Saturday. WOW!

Ralph's white SRT Viper GTS in Indy

Met Ralph at Carlisle last summer. He must have signed about 100 cars, both the Viper guys, and the LX-chassis guys. He's a class act

Best comment you overheard someone say about your car...

I was filling up this morning. A woman in a Prius at the pump next to me gets out and asks"Is that a Mustang" Wow. My 2003 looks like a Mustang now?

weird thing happened with my doors/locks today

Exactly what happened to me, except I couldn't fix mine. I had to latch tie the door inside to the other door, to keep it closed enough to get to the dealer. Latch mechanism was shot, needed replacemnt.

Anyone with a Stock 2003 Viper PCM?

I could always use one as well, if I ever had to go back to stock.

    2003 and 2004 Recall

Paul, can you PM me with a price? Thanks,

    2003 and 2004 Recall

Black Moon, yours is like mine - probably bad clock spring. When my dealer idenified this 3 years ago, they quoted me about $400 fix. They said it didn't affect airbag operation, so I told 'em to leave it. But the OP is right - if I have the recall done, they may be forced to do the clock spring...

    2003 and 2004 Recall

Yes, I know. I should have clarified, they identified that 3 years ago - clock spring. I told 'em don't bother!

First Launch Edition is on the ground at Roanoke!

That is one good looking car. Wow. I wonder why slotted rotors aren't standard. My 2007 SRT8 Charger has slotted rotors standard, you would like Vipers would have them.
