    Rumors...what's the dealio?

For me, I'm not made of money. The money I would have spent on this actually went towards a car repair! I was a member a year, and got nothign out of it except the ability to post in the regional forum. I go to club events, including Carlisle, and see all the local Viper people, without having...

Did the ultimate no-no yesterday, let someone drive my Viper without me in it

I live about 5 minutes from the McLaren dealership here in West Chester-Newtown Square. They usually bring a car to our cars and coffee every week. Amazing car. Except I cracked my head getting out of it! I'll still take a 458 first. Of course, that's like saying I'll take Brittany Daniel over...

Pics of your viper with your daily driver

No picture together, but I'm all Mopar: 2013 Dart SXT 1.4 Turbo w/ 6-speed is the daily I have a 22 mile round trip commute. 100 would suck....and I've though about it. I could buy a house for cheap in farther out, but I like to have a life, and not spend it commuting.

    2014 On Order?

The car would look real nice parked next to my 07 SRT8 Superbee. Too bad the Bee would have to go, along with my 03 Viper, and my left leg, plus cash to get one! Beautiful!

    I'm Back!

Nice stable of vehicles you have there, including the '87 Buick! Not a slow car in the bunch!

    Would like a catch can

Is it just me, or does that seem like a LOT of oil usage? Not just a catch can issue? Not trying to raise alarms, but I'm curious.

Anyone had to replace a rear tire on a V yet?

Michelin Pilot SS. As good as, or better, a tire.

Not the way to start the weekend

Here in PA, that would be several points on a license that stay for 2 years. And that's the least of it.

WTB 19" 5 Spoke OEM Wheel (No "Alcoa Forged DB"Stamping)

Thanks Ben. I'm not too concerned about making it look "perfect". Just not so obvious, LOL!!

    Differential issues 2003 SRT

Just had my diff fluid changed a couple months ago with 30,000 miles on the car. Don't know how the other owner drove it, but my mechanic didn't see anything out of the ordinary in the old fluid. You didn't buy the car, smart move, as there are plenty of these cars out there.

Great to hear Ben. You see why I'm eager to keep my damaged (repairable) as a spare. Pics after you get them mounted! Scott

To Sell Or Keep 03 Vs 08

I couldn'y have said this better myself. As I said in my first post, I can't use my Gen 3 as is: PS2s, Mopar PCM with Mopar Race exhaust, etc. Hell, I can get in trouble quick in my 425 hp SRT8! I just can't justify the cost (nor do I have the extra $$) to upgrade to a Gen 4. It's like haveing a...

To Sell Or Keep 03 Vs 08

I was at a show this past weekend, and there was a lady with an 04 with 3000 miles on, with the stock ZPs. She wouldn't listen....

To Sell Or Keep 03 Vs 08

Thanks Paul, didn't realize about the geometry. However, I switched to PS2s as soon as I bought the car!

To Sell Or Keep 03 Vs 08

Paul mentioned brakes. Don't Gen 3 and 4 have the same Brembo setup? One thing I love about the 03 is the brakes, no complaints there. Curious, as I hadn't realized they were different?

To Sell Or Keep 03 Vs 08

Gen 3 easier to mod. Costs a lot of dough (your car, +cash) to do the Gen 3 to 4 upgrade. I know, I have an 03, and it has crossed my mind. I can't justify it.....I can't drive my 03 anywhere near it's limits, let alone a Gen 4. Maybe someday, but not now.

want to switch from run flats!!

Michelin PS2s, which have now been superceded by the Super Sport. What 99.99% of us use. I switched to the PS2 when I bought my car 3 years ago, and when they need replacing, will use the Super Sport. The runflats were dangerous when new. I saw an 04 at show on Saturday, which the original...

    Finally drove the SRT viper

I have never understood the truck comments. It doesn't sound like a V8, but is certainly doesn't sound bad either! My Gen 3 has the Mopar Race exhauset, so maybe that's it. I owned a 97 Ram with the iron-block 488 V10, and again, it sounded different, but not bad. SRT Viper just wants something...

    Woohoo ! She's in

Yep, just as most of the dash knobs and buttons in my '03 are the same as were in my '04 Ram. IMO, this is a GOOD things, as it means these parts should be available for many years to come, as they are used in so many different vehicles. Claude, you 've waited a while for this car, go out and...

    Woohoo ! She's in

Love that interior! Gorgeous! However, I DO notice that the headlight switch, and the steering wheel control buttons are the same as on my '13 Dart! That's either good or bad, depending on your point of view. LOL! Congrats, and enjoy her in good health!

" The new Viper is exotic and curvy, but the glory days are gone at least by sales"

Re: " The new Viper is exotic and curvy, but the glory days are gone at least by sale That is great! Another of Arnold's famous movie quotes (and he has several) but it really does apply in this case!

Why do viper owners tend to keep miles so low?

I bought my 03 in April 2010, with just under 23,000 on it. Jus turned 31,000 yesterday, so I've put 8000 miles on it in about 3 1/4 years. I would drive it more, but I have two other cars (including a 2007 SRT8 Superbee, which I show more), and I have to stay under 5000 miles a year here in PA...

WTB 19" 5 Spoke OEM Wheel (No "Alcoa Forged DB"Stamping)

I have my one with the bad rash (gouge) on it. If I had already had it repaired, I think we could have worked a deal. Just haven't gotten around to having it fixed up yet. By the way, contact Jerry at Viper Parts of America. He was able to track one down for me. Excellent customer service.
