Great picture!!!
That certainly was a fun event.
I was expecting to be just a spectator but enjoyed numerous laps in the SRT coupes.
Special thanks Steve & Carol for letting me nicely coax your Viper through the autocross course, that was certainly a thrill!
And thank you to Tim &...
Over the years it appears that I accumulated quite a few wheels with some curb rash and even 1 that looked like scrap to me... Rather than throwing them away or recycle, I took them to a guy known as the Wheel Wizard for a second opinion.
I just picked up the wheels from having curb rash...
Lori called and sent an email to Bud, didn't get a response, so my guess is he is not planning on organizing ian event around the roadster show this year.
Is there someone else that wants to organize an event? Or at least coordinate a group going to the show?
Hey Greg -
For the members in the NW that want to attend but can't get the Vipers there due to weather, will they still be able to participate in the roadcourse or only autocross events? Is the cost for a member to attend without a car the guest fee of $60 or is it the $100 per person?
Can...
Last year we did have a NW event (Western Canada was the host) and this year we could not make it work, this zone event is being used to qualify people for the SRT vs ViperClub autocross event so the timing is important or else by the time we have a team together, there is snow in the Detroit...
I have not driven 3.73s but have 3.55s in my car and stock gears in the wife's SRT, the difference (even back when the power was virtually the same) was incredible.
If you do drag racing or drive somewhere where the tires get very hot and sticky then possibly the 3.73s would be of benefit, for...
While I do not have a Gen4 car I do make similar power and can say that 3.55s rock and are one of the best mods I have ever done to a Viper.
Yes, on some road courses there may be a better choice, I looked for but can't find the gear ratio calculator that Dave Adkins wrote a few years back and...
I had a similar but positive experience back in 96 when I was first looking at Vipers. I was on my way skiing driving a 8 year old Olds delta 88, saw a Viper at the gas station and asked him how he liked it. Told him I was thinking about getting one and wanted to know what he did and did not...
Hi Clint, I can bring some snow so your new car feels at home... LOL.
Look forward to seeing you all there. Bill & I are in Detroit right now for meetings with National and should have some updates for everyone.
James
Dario, Lori & I will be there as well.
Thanks Bill for sending out an agenda more than two weeks in advance, how organized! :2tu:
What a great start to 2009! Happy New Year Viper Club!
Hey Clint-
Did you get the car back from Oregon? Did you have to trailer it or were you able to drive it when the weather broke for a couple of days?
James
I had Lingenfelter heads and custom camshaft installed on my GTS, the results were beyond even my high expectations. Let me know if you need their contact info.
James
very interesting, I sold a car so am down on pistons, :-)
10+10+8+8+ 6 (wife's hybrid) = 42
misc power toys... 7 more
spare parts from damaged Viper motor... 3
so stretching it I get to 52 pistons.
I have bought several items from Larry, he does research for hard to find parts, is quick to get back to you, always courteous and a real pleasure with which to do business. I recommend viper parts larry.
JonB has helped me multiple times with hard to find parts and also the Big Brake upgrade kit. His knowledge of the Viper is incredible. I recommend doing business with Partsrack.
He had a couple of jobs that stiffed him, was un-successful on a mechanic's lean against one of them and then could not afford to pay the bills, so had to close the shop.
I spoke to him this weekend and he & Janet wished the entire club a Merry Christmas.
After seeing many of the ACRs in person in Detroit I decided that the RED ACR with the stripe was my favorite combination, even more so than the violet or all back, now having had the opportunity to see the graphite... wow, it looks like the concept car that was at the autoshow circuit back in...
My opinion is that Clint was not yet an officer when he drove to the event, he certainly drove a long way and even drove extra to help get the donated prizes to the event.
If my vote counts, it is for Clint to get the gas card.
Actually Clint who drove over 90 miles would be an officer elect for 2009, not a current regional officer, so would probably qualify for the gas card. Am I correct or did I miss something?
James
Also there will be a gas card given as a prize to the person who travels the furthest, which at this point looks like anyone beyond 90 miles would be a leading contender.... seems like a great opportunity for someone from Oregon to win!
Thanks Scotty for the phone call, I guess we will now be bringing a laptop and wireless connection. Please try and communicate better in the future so this does not happen again, this is an important event for charity.
