This video states- "Has the Corvette ZR1 met it's match?" Really. I was hoping that the media would say- "The ZR1 has met it's match and Viper reigns supreme once again!" :crazy2:
Unfortunately, untill some real world tests come out whereby the Viper does actually trounce the ZR1 the Viper...
Shelby American is celebrating its 50th anniversary by turning up the wick on the Ford Mustang--really turning up the wick.
Carroll Shelby's car-tuning firm is taking the Shelby 1000 to the New York auto show in April. Based on the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, the street version of the Shelby 1000...
Man, it's dead in this section. It feels like someone let the air out of the balloon. SRT needs to hire some strippers to show them how to keep the tease active and our interest UP;)
Unfortunately, this is on the new Mercedes SL65- seems they don't mind spilling the beans a few weeks early:smirk:
C'mon SRT, we need some more fuel for the fire. Can't you give us anything else?
I too have bounced "back" to a Gen 2 (a couple of times actually). I recently bought a 2 owner 8,000 mile totally stock '96. Although I reeeeally prefer the look and feel of the '96, I miss the extra grunt of my '08 SSG. With so few clean '96's still in totally stock condition I am reluctant to...
Having A/C might have allowed the driver to "keep his cool" and saved this rare snake.;)
I considered picking up a non-comfort silver and blue ACR, but just couldn't imagine driving it in the hot SoCal summers. On a whim I sometimes turn off the A/C on my 96 GTS just to see what I would have...
If it has a grill/mesh I just hope that they make it body colored like the current Gens. I really don't think that it needs to be black which just draws unneeded attention to it. That's one of the things I really hated on the Shelby GT500's- that big old ugly black monstrosity on the hood...
Here's a closer look at the hood from another angle.

Or, maybe it's from the new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8:o I guess SRT really wanted to keep with the "family resemblance" look with their new Viper styling. For me, I'd rather have the Viper...
The Indy 500 has an actual concert venue called "The Snake Pit" I can't think of any better place to showcase the 2013 Viper and upstage the Cheby boys!

Are you thinking of trading out your Strikers?
Rob, it you really want a stock car you should just trade me for my '96 and I'll throw in some cash:ponder:
I have read that the front fascia and rear bumpers were painted with slightly different paint. Were they Sikkens as well? I also remember a post where the Wizard said that 3 different blues were used throughout the run. Maybe he was referring to the body, fascia and bumper differences??
Those front wheels are 6 luggers, which aren't used on too many other applications. I wonder if that is going to be one of the options? At furst blush, they don't seem to belong on a Viper. I hope there are a few other options available.
In the latest Autoweek there was a story about Sebring, and it stated that a bunch of SRT guys were present. They inferred that there is a very high likelyhood of the Viper getting officially back into the racing world.
I bought my '96 GTS 2 weeks ago with 7,400 miles, and now it's got a little over 7,800. I've put more miles on it in 2 weeks that the previous owners average in a whole year:drive:
