WITHOUT QUESTION definitely a better daily driver than a Gen IV but still not my first choice for a daily driver. Still a weekend car for us northeast folks.
Glad to see how happy you are with the car. The weather has been kind in the northeast lately and I have been driving mine quite a bit. Cant get enough.
All those cars listed are faster than the Viper at Laguna Seca?? the Nurburgring?? I would double check that if I were you?? IF I spent $450,000 on an Aventador it better be faster in a straight line than a 125k car! USED 458's are going for 250K.. only the GTR is impressive for the price and...
Drove the gen V to work today.....was a crisp 45 degrees in NY today. Took the long way home!! Cant get enough of this car. If there is anybody in the tri state area on the fence about buying one and a dealer wont let you test drive...drop me a pm I will let you test drive mine.
a lot has changed since 1996...heck even Honda's can run high 13's in quarter. due to the laws of physics cars are eventually going to hit a plateau in regards to performance.
commandomatt, my comment shouldn't be read with a negative connotation. Just curious. Because I need to go waayyy up in price to find a car that 'might' excite me as much as the design and drive of my Gen V.
I am curious as to what car does excite you in this price range?? I was at a local car club meet (with Porsche, amg merc, old vette's and 2 new c7 vettes) and the design/looks of my Gen V blew everyone away! and it wasn't just my consensus.
What is to complain about??? Had the car out yesterday, 60 degress and gorgeous in NY, and the car was running flawless roaring around town!! BTW...I still get from gawkers and on-lookers "What car is that?"...I say the new Viper..they still say..." I thought they stopped making them?"...
yes, but I believe that was at MIR...a very good track for drag racing. I have found a consistant .3-.4 sec difference in running my car at Atco and Englishtown. 2 different tracks in the same state...so, Yes, the track matters a lot!
11.6 is a great time but 119mph...that's what my gen III trapped. Its achieving that time right off the line and in the first 60 feet...from a roll it will get destroyed by the gen V.
