Advice needed on choosing a helmet.

Great advice from everyone. I would add that you invest in a neck collar to help with the fatigue factor. Spend as much as you can possibly afford. Isn't it amazing that most of are quick to spend money on mods for our Snakes, but try to cut costs of a helmet? FYI, I heard that Shoei is...

    Can my 99 R/T 10 be lowered?

You have to buy adjustable perches to be able to lower it without buying new springs. Call Jon B at Parts Rack or a local dealer. They are included with the ACR package. Be careful if you have steep driveways and dips in your neighborhood.

Where can I get the ACR twin K&N setup with smooth tubes??

If you want the twin cone set up, you'll have to call Roy at TNT or go with the carbon fiber air box from K&N or Hennessey.

Hey did any of you get the latest May issue of Road and Track?

Not only is there a nice write up on the Gen 3 RT, but there was also a section called "Used Car Classic" on Vipers (pg. 121). Guess who was the most quoted person in this article? Our own Webmaster himself BIG Jay Herbert. Congrats to Jay and Dan Cragin for the input to this article. You've...

For those that knew, "Ed Big Daddy Roth"...

Re: For those that knew, \"Ed Big Daddy Roth\"... I met him at a big Rat Fink Reunion and he was a genuinely nice guy. He has left a tremendous legacy behind him with the likes of George Barris and Von Dutch (Barris is one of the only ones who are alive from that era). God Speed Rat Fink.

    5 Point Harness Question

99: I don't think that the SCCA would approve of the set up that Daryl is asking about. I would just recommend that Daryl invest in some harness pads to reduce the discomfort that he is experiencing, instead of rerouting the belts around the seat. I also wouldn't recommend that you use your 5...

On Patience... and pictures of my "Project Viper"

Re: On Patience... and pictures of my \"Project Viper\" Hi Jay: The project looks great. Was it a real expensive endeavor, or did you have a good source for all of the parts? Thanks for the good feedback on Ed's shop. Are you building it for street use or are you building a track car? Are...

Viper walks away from a ZO6?

Viper walks away from a ZO6?

99t1: Matbe this will help you: http://www.autoworldweekly.com/roadtests/roadtests.cfm?instanceid=8286 Keep in mind that the 2001 Vipers all have ABS brakes and take away one of the only advantages that the Z06 had over Snakes. The next complaint that they'll have about Vipers is lack of...

    Rear Suspension Question

MOMO Safety Harness Warning from SCCA!

Thanks Blake, This has been a pretty active discussion for the last week or two. It's wild that someone brought up the fact that these belts didn't conform to SCCA specs and shortly afterwards this comes out? I am sure that after the Earnhardt tragedy, that everyone is more aware of safety...

Are we the Mumford and Abelberg of the straight line???

Ron: I never left (just got bored and have been sitting in the wings). How are you doing? Did you find a blower that you like yet? You should check out Grant's Performance in Torrance. I understand that Wes Coppen is putting out some pretty beefy twin turbo engines. Give me a call if you...

    1500hp Vipers???

I think that there are cars doing this, but all of the owners are now dark spots in the desert (sorry, it's my military brat humor). Seriously, I think that builders like SVSi, Doug Levin and maybe Wes Coppen of Grants' Performance are building engines over 900 HP. With the addition of NOS...
