    Track Racing

Bottom line, check the language of your insurance policy for exclusions for track usage. There are generally 2 sets of language out there: the first type of language has exclusions for times events, racing, activities in preparation for racing. Arguably, untimed HPDE events and dricing...

I agree with the other post; insurance fraud is not the way to go.

    Track Racing

I agree that when one takes their car to a track school or HPDE there is an element of assumed risk, whether your regular, "street" insurance policy has a clear exclusion for on-track events or not. I think there is a middle ground, however, to the approach of simply saving enough cash to be...

    Track Racing

Bristolrover -- sounds like you have some experience with HPDE events. If you haven't already done so, (1) have your car inspected by a competent Viper Tech or mechanic to make sure the car is sound (brake pads, rotors, hoses, bearing etc.) and (2) check you insurance policy to determine...

Anyone install the CF dash kit?

I had the Mopar CF dash kits installed on my 2006; obviously personal preference but I liked the look:

ACR Calipers Sufficient For Road Course Use?

As a precaution I upgraded the stock components on my 2008 convertible with (1) Stoptech slotted 2-piece rotors (functionally same as ACR rotors), (2) Stoptech stainless steel braided brake lines and (3) Motul RBF 600 brake fluid (factory fill on the competition coupe). I retained the stock pads...

    H&R Coil Overs ....

Thanks for posting Luke; I would be curious to see how the H&Rs compare to the Moton Club Sports and the KW ACR system as the H&R price is quite competitive.

    ACR Performance testing

Dan -- beautiful car and nice post. Just as a side note, what type of hp and torque gains are you seeing on 2008-2009 Vipers with the full Belanger system (headers, high flow cats, magnaflow mufflers and exhaust)? This would be without the Mopar ECU although if you already have data on cars...

    GTS Blue ACR - Ordered!

I really hope you take it out to PIR for an HPDE this summer. On behalf of Cascade Sports Car Club, I know a lot of people at PIR are looking forward to seeing what an ACR can do at Portland International. I'll be driving the 2008 GTS Blue convertible. /Rich

    2008/09 High Flow Air Filters?

Snake Oyl sells a cold air intake/air filter combo for the 08-09 listing "potential" gaims in the 15 hp range but as far as i know no one has independently tested this product.

    Love '09 6-spoke Wheels

They weigh approximately the same as the ACR/Sidewinder rims: 17.5 lb front and 25 lb rear (rims only with no lugs, caps, TPMS sensors etc.).

    '09 6-spoke wheel/tire weights.

Thanks for the information; someone reputable (SRT engineers, Jon B, Mark Jorgensen?) posted previously that the 6-spokes without tires, caps, lug bolts, weigh about as much as the ACR/Sidewinder rim, appr. 17.5 lb front and 25 lb rear.

    (batman)carbon Fiber Bubble Boot Cover

Jon -- do you happen to know if the Speedster Bubble will stay on securely at speeds of 130-170 mph? Hypothetically speaking of course. /Rich

Mopar Controller: Before and after Dyno results

Are you installing a full Belanger header/exhaust system by any chance? If so, I will be watching your numbers with the Mopar ECU with great interest.

My 2008 GTS Blue Convertible Arrived at the Dealer Today . . .

Thanks. The car in stock form pulled 529 rwhp and 505 rwft-lbs of torque on a Mustang dyno. I am still working toward the "after" dyno measurements.
