Pressure bleeding is what is recommended by the shop manual and is more convinent as you do not have to keep going back to refill the master cylinder. I have an Motive Brake Bleeder which works great. The adapter Frank mentions would make it even easier.
"remember these are NOT lead acid battery"
Just a correction. Optima's are lead acid batteries, they just have the acid in a gel and the lead in a spiral configuration.
Had something similar happen with my 97. At startup would idle at 1500-2000. Could not bring it down. Took it to dealer and it had tripped nearly 20 codes. After some work they found out it was the battery. Replaced that and no problems since. Judging by my VEC 1, it is normal to be lean at...
Re:
"If your current (stock brakes) are capable of locking up the wheels (as 95 has no ABS) and you are not driving on the track you would need to be Juan Montoya to see any benefit of a brake upgrade for street use.
"
If you mean locking up all 4-wheels you are correct. If you mean just the...
I do think people in general respond differently to a Viper than to say a Porsche or SL. With a Porsche or SL a lot of people think rich [******]. With the Viper they seem to think "cool car". I think this helps reduce vandalism.
Dean,
I would take it to Home Depo but havn't figured out how to get 100' of 3/4" sch 40 and a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 " ply in it yet. I guess having an R/T 10 has its advantages! :)
I drive mine anywhere I have good parking. Work, supermarket, auto parts store, Jamba Juice but not Home Depo (too crowded parking lot). I put more miles on it than my other vehicle (Chevy K2500).
That's it. I guess they don't show what a cleaned filter flows. K&N recommends cleaning every 30,000 - 50,000 miles depending on driving conditions!
I think it is just dyno variation. I can't imagine that dynos are accurate to more than 3-5% (12-20 hp) on different days. Could also be the smoothing setting as that can make 10-20 hp difference. My dyno runs varied 5 hp when done 5 minutes apart. (Probably engine temperature). I wouldn't...
Re:
And have decreased strengh and increased likelihood of cracking.Definite poser mod (not that there is anything wrong with that). I don't think anyone serious about tracking their car uses them.
Those big 20's make the Baers look really tiny!
The poser side of me didn't like the tan pad under the release knob on the Snakeoils. Also the blue was much to light for the 97s. Went with Schroth Profi III's and am very happy.
Jonathan,
Here are a few crappy pictures. My car is a mess from all the recent rain. I did wash the wheels just for the picture but had to take it in the garage at night.
I just got the front setup with SS lines and slotted rotors for the rears.
Jonathan,
I went through the same dilemma: black or red. Went with red and they look great. I will try and post a picture of mine tonight. Are you going with the 2 or 4 wheel setup?
