My folks live near Grass Valley, I cruise up in the Viper on occasion... Unfortunately it's about twice as expensive these days, but if there was a meet in the foothills somewhere I'd definitely try to make it.
One more sighting for you all... saw a blue and white GTS driving down Clayton Road in Concord on Saturday. Haven't seen that car around before, not sure if it was a local.
I was thinking this a while back, but the Gen 2 Viper might be the only car ever that has a COMPLETELY different look from any angle. It really does look like a different car depending on where you stand. In that way it certainly is a masterpiece of automotive design (sorry, that sounds really...
Since the RT/10 came out when I was 13ish I've never wanted anything else. I was even more floored when the GTS arrived and I quickly decided I'd be getting a GTS. There is something really exotic about the RT/10 though. Maybe it's because I see the GTS in my garage every day, but every time I...
I did notice that I had popped the smaller rubber tube coming out of the booster, but I put that back in right away. I've had it pop out before, and it caused a check engine light not a brake warning light. My guess is that the metal tubes might have disconnected somehow when I was trying to...
Just wanted to see if anyone has any quick thoughts on why both of those lights would pop on at the same time. I haven't been doing an brake work, and they only came on EXACTLY the first start after I finished my headers install. My guess is that the power assist lost it's vacuum, maybe I...
Oh! thanks for reminding me that I need to wash mine! :) Beautiful pics too. I could really use some mountain road driving, probably have to wait a couple weeks before I can get out of town though.
Only reason I got an ACR was my intention to spend a lot of time at the track. The 5 point harnesses are a must have if you plan to track at all. Being essentially part of the seat when tearing around turns makes a huge difference compared to just the normal three point belt. Shocks are nice...
Welcome to the family! Always great to see a fellow red ACR (my stripes aren't factory).
So, what are your plans for the new ride? Take it to the track? Car shows? Or just tool around town? :)
Personally after spending time on the track, it's clear to me that the only way to push the Viper to...
Great compilation, thanks for posting! Still waiting for Top Gear to test the 2008... if they haven't already (yet to see it). Wow, the weather here this past weekend was AMAZING, perfect driving weather.
I think you might be right... I only really listen in the cockpit. One of these days I need to find someone I trust to drive it while I'm following in my truck so I can see how annoying it really is to everyone else on the road :headbang:
Quick Update for those of you that are interested.
Finished the header install and after about 100 miles I can say pretty confidently that the exhaust sound has quieted a bit from my stock headers setup (stock headers, Belanger cats, Belanger cat back). The sound is definitely richer, but oddly...
Pardon me for being ill informed but what do you mean by VOI9? I'm assuming it's your Viper, but was there a special edition that was only for sale at VOI9? I've seen others use the same term, but never had it explained to me.
Sorry to go off topic there. Back on topic, wow that's an...
Haha, took me a second to get the "What?" joke :lmao:
I was thinking the same thing, cats and cat back are what's going to make the exhaust loud. Sound will probably change, but doubt it will get louder.
Back in Sept. I installed the Belanger high flow cats and cat back with the intention of putting in their headers as well. The noise difference between that and stock was really dramatic and I love it.
Question is, now that I'm installing the headers this weekend, will my system get...
Was coming back from Rocklin on 80 heading west (before the business 80 split in citrus heights??) and saw a yellow gen 2 RT/10 going the other way. Think it was on Saturday the 15th.
Didn't think it would be difficult, but I'm having a hard time getting the wrench in the right place without having a bunch of stuff in the way.
I've taken out the airbox to get more room but it's still awkward trying to get a socket wrench in the right place.
Anyone have a regular method...
