So, thinking about taking the Viper across the pond...

Well, debating taking a contract in London... not sure I can live without my Viper... even less sure I can trust anyone to store it for me while I'm over there. To those of you who have shipped Vipers (Gen II) from the States, would it be a big pain to ship mine over with the expectation I'd...

Winter Hibernation - Does EVERYONE do it?

OK, that's enough to discourage me from driving the Viper up to Tahoe for some winter snowboarding... not that I needed more reasons :) Luckily I doubt my board will fit... although I was REALLY surprised that my golf clubs all fit under the hatch back no problems :2tu: Although I have to say...

Did anyone use band clamp's to install Random's High Flow Cat's

I ended up clamping my cats to the header flex-pipe. My set up was a bit different, had the Belanger cat back and high flow cats... coming off the cats is 3" pipe, but the kit included a 2.5" reducer pipe which was the same diameter as the flex pipe. I read someone recommend the band clamps from...

SHIFTING Your Viper - AUDIO Tachometer

Hmm, this reminds me of my G-tech pro... it reads engine RPM from the cigarette lighter, and it's very accurate. Also has a shift light feature which when mounted on the wind shield is pretty obvious when the bright red LED flashes. It's a heck of a lot easier to install and works in any car...

    2001 Bumble Bee For Sale

I paid $53k in June for mine. Had 9300 miles on it. I got a bit of a price break because the previous owner had sold the ACR wheels and put the 2002 GTS wheels on. Not a big deal for me, I like me SSRs better (looks and lighter).

    Gen 2 Brake Pads How-to?

Their site is www.porterfield-brakes.com I'd imagine they have some info on how to get the pads there. My dad knows a guy who runs a Porsche shop in Reno and he recommended them as well as ordered them for me at wholesale.

    2001 Bumble Bee For Sale

Beautiful car, _almost_ wish I had shopped more and got a bumble bee... almost. There was an '02 ACR for sale in San Jose at the time, guy was asking 60k... a bit much. If I do get a bumble bee, it will probably be an '06 coupe. Good luck with the sale, hopefully it will go to a VCA member (or...

Winter Hibernation - Does EVERYONE do it?

Can't take credit for the term (thankfully), I know I've seen it here on the board before.

    acr plus mod from dodge

I know I ran across a review of the ACR plus not too long ago, forget what year. They claimed it ran a 3.9 sec 0-60. Can't seem to find the review anymore though. Found it through a Google search looking for a plain old ACR review. You could probably find it with a bit of effort.

Winter Hibernation - Does EVERYONE do it?

Wait... are you insinuating that Berkley is full of wacko environmentalist hippies?? Driving around here you'd think all they sell in Nor Cal is the Prius. You know what they say about guys with large carbon footprints...

Winter Hibernation - Does EVERYONE do it?

I kinda figured as much... now that I think about it, it's a bit of a dumb question . I don't think I could take not driving mine for months at a time... a couple days is hard enough.

Winter Hibernation - Does EVERYONE do it?

This will be my first winter with the ACR and I'm starting to see a few winter storage topics pop up. Does everyone do this, or is it just an east coast thing? California winters aren't that cold and rainy (usually). Am I missing other reasons not to drive in the winter?

    Your current collection

I'm trying not to brag here... but other than my '02 ACR, I have a shiny white 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500... gotta have something to tow the boat with. It's OK to be jealous :2tu:

PICS: NJ red/black RT/10 wreck yesterday

Wow, that's going to make me think twice before hitting the gas on my way home tonight. Nasty wreck, good to see everyone seems OK. Vipers definitely have a way of making just about any wreck look horrible. Looks like he painted the speaker covers red... interesting.

George At MGW does it again Cool Black GasCap

Yeah, if I had to pick something I didn't care for, it would be the big logo... I've seen people black powder coat the stock cap and it looks OK. I don't think they can get a smaller logo since I read MGW uses the same supplier as Dodge, so I imagine it's only one size, but don't quote me on that.

George At MGW does it again Cool Black GasCap

Hate to dig up an old thread, but in case anyone is interested, here's the black cap on my red/silver. I really like the look, especially with my SSRs.

This can't be a good idea

If you check out the Flickr photo set by the photographer, there are a few other cars that did it too... a Defender (that I can understand) and a Supra I think. They call the event some sort of rally. Seriously, we need to get that VIN heh.

This can't be a good idea

Haha, that's one way to apply it I suppose. Generally I like to stick with a spray bottle and rag rather than fording a river heheh. Looks like it's about to be front fascia and side sill dressing too.

This can't be a good idea

Found this on Flickr this morning. Wow, I sure hope the river rose while he was on the other side and this was the only way out. Actual link to the Flickr page: http://flickr.com/photos/winslowkr/1433627759/

    Engine light question?

Autozone (what it's called out here in Cali. may be under a different name where you are) lets you rent code readers for free and bring them back when you are done. It''s a pretty popular thing to do out here, they're usually all rented out... you might have better luck. And don't buy one...

Here are some pics for those afraid to drive their viper in the rain

Wow, I can only imagine how dirty your car would have been after driving through that mess :)

    Your First Car?

First car was a 1980 VW Rabbit. My dad picked it up for $100 with a blown engine. We found an '84 16 valve Golf engine and put that big boy in the Rabbit along with converting it to a stick from auto. I ended up totaling it a year or so later. You can imagine how excited I was when I heard VW...

    Who Can Drive Your Viper?

I'll only let someone who has track experience or done a performance driving school. Before they start up the car, I make sure it's really clear that I waited 15 years to buy my Viper, and wrote a $60k check to get it. To be honest, the majority if people I offer the driver's seat to turn me...

    Gen 2 Brake Pads How-to?

Nice! Great pictorial, that will definitely make me feel a lot better doing the job. Now a beer holder... that's a good idea. I could probably build one into my little rolling shop stool :rolaugh:
